I'm going to start saying "You have stupid hair".

Because... that's probably the most random thing you can say to someone voicing their opinion which you never asked for.

You could always go with the classic "yeah but your mom liked it"

I thought the rust was the worst part? Or the terrible range? Y'all make up your minds
I’ve never really complained about anything… just the negative attention. The things you mentioned are fake news.

You have run into our local comedian. He said it because it was fake news.

Haters. Notice, nobody solicited for their opinions and yet they were so adamant about giving it? Those are the most annoying people in society.
Yeah for real. I didn't buy the truck for other peoples opinions. It's kind of funny how they think I give a shit what they think.

Naw, best way back is to live your best. Give them the thumbs up.

Yea... that will either satisfy their ego or the guilt kicks in! Either ways, we will be at peace, enjoying our truck!

Anyone else get into your Cyberbeast and pull along side another truck while out driving that looks somewhat expensive and you think, man I almost feel bad for that sucker paying that money for what ‘appears’ nice but I know the tech in that thing matches my grandfathers john deer tech from the 70’s?

Would you like some lessons in growing bigger balls?
The size of ones genitals has nothing to do with being annoyed by people shouting profanity or giving you the finger with kids in the truck.

It's a figure of speech, silly. In this context it means be secure in who you are, and don't let other's misguided ideas and silly beliefs affect you negatively. Also, an important lesson for your kids if used as an example of how not to act.

I do think that’s part of it.

Persona 1:

Imagine saving up for years and years, getting to a point where you’re established, and painstakingly researching trucks to finally drop $90k on “the one”. Then 6 months later a truck shows up that’s way better.

Let’s be real… Lets say Nikola Tesla and Leonardo Da Vinci rose from the dead and partnered to make a new car company, raised a trillion in funding, and came out with something called the Megatruck that is better than the CT in all ways - faster, smoother, 10000 miles of range, charges in 5 minutes, has a force field around it so it’s perfectly safe, has propellers that allow it to fly autonomously and vertical land / park, can turn into a boat, and is $20k cheaper, we’d be feeling that way.

I suspect those here on this forum would see anecdotal negative news, and post it here as reassurance. “That ain’t no truck! This is a solution to a problem nobody has! 10000 miles is unnecessary! Why fly when you have FSD! Warranty voided!”

It would be subconscious to defend our well thought out and costly purchase. It’s just human nature.

Persona 2:

There’s also the other side of it. Those who believe driving a $100k+ car is rubbing money in their faces. I do get that perception, even if it’s nobody’s intent. Spend $100k renovating your kitchen with a $15k stove and $15k fridge that does the same basic thing as a $1k stove and $1k fridge, nobody bats an eye. But take that $100k to the outside world, and you’re in for a treat.

I know a bunch of people on this forum are current or past owners of supercars. So they kind of get this dynamic already. But for a lot of people here, this is their first car that stands out… and because it’s become kind of a cultural phenomenon, the price of it is basically now well known by the broader population. Even though we all pre-ordered, assuming it was going to be more attainable, turns out it’s not. I think that upsets people.

So you also have the “10 grand landing in my bank account right now would literally change my life, and here goes this egotistical douchbag driving a $120,000 cyber beast”.

If I am accurate on persona two, I genuinely do feel bad about that, even though I only solely bought it because me and my family thought it was cool, fun and nice.

I'll take it a step further. I have a Ford F350 Platinum High Output 6.7 that cost more than my CT. Nobody bats an eyelash at it. No comments, except once in a while when filling it with diesel at the gas station, someone will say "Nice truck!". I never get a thumbs down. I never get a middle finger. Most just treat it like it doesn't exist, so its more than just the money. With the CT, it's a mixture of the media associated with the CT, its polarizing image, the price, AND the dislike for the owner of the company.

I agree it's stupid. People think because they think it's ugly I am wasting my money and thats what the media wants them to think. If I want to use my money to pay for en EV, while they can save theirs for a kitchen remodel, then thats the way it should work. But they should STFU about it.
