It does make sense. FSD is not a deterministic system, it's stocastic.
Yeah? Well, you're stocastic!

:)

Yeah, should have been stochastic... But, it's funnier if I keep it the same.

OK so after earlier this week going up my driveway twice after putting a pin in front of my garage to mark "home" versus just typing in the address, when I tried it yesterday afternoon on the way home, so I could get a video for this thread to prove that it worked, of course it didn't work! My daughter and I tried it a few times, driving away from the house, then setting up nav to go "home" and starting FSD. I know it worked twice in a row though - my daughter thought it was so cool when I showed her because it drove right up to where I always park my truck, except it was nose-in so the charger wouldn't reach. Not sure what the pattern is where it works sometimes but not others, but I'm going to keep trying.

During one of our retries, I actually entered our home address while we were close to the house but facing away from it. The truck did something super weird - it showed the route in the nav as going down the street, taking a right, and then turning right into a neighbor's driveway, like it was looking for a place to turn around! There is a cul-de-sac at the end of that road just two houses past the neighbor's driveway where it was planning to go. I was going to let it keep going to see what happened, but as soon as it got to the point it would have to turn right up the driveway, it instead turned like 45 degrees LEFT, drove slowly across the wrong lane towards the mailbox of the neighbor across the road, and then slowed to a crawl. During this the path planning blue bar was twitching all over the place like the vision couldn't find a path, and the steering wheel was twitching back and forth like the truck was having a panic attack. I would have let it try and figure it out but I saw another neighbor near the cul-de-sac come out of their driveway and I was in a pretty weird position blocking the road, so I just took over and went home. Very interesting trying to figure out what the hell the truck is thinking sometimes...

It's very inconsistent. Chooses different paths/ behaviors every drive on the same route.

But the one thing it will always do is blow right past my house at full speed LOL
