That's not how it works though. The manufacturer tells the IRS which vehicles it makes qualify and IRS puts it on the list.I spoke with Tesla sales yesterday, they said they are waiting on the IRS to designate the CT as eligible for the $7,500 Fed tax credit. He said the same thing happened with the Model3, took a few weeks for the IRS to catch-up.
Dry battery electrode production in 2025 with non-China mineral sourcing should do it. Same with Panasonic 4680s.Ineligibility for the $7,500 tax credit made buying a FS a no-brainer for me
However I think it’s tragic that the credit may never be available at all
Understandable, it's a big chunk of money for filling the transportation role.No tax credit puts it out of my already stretched budget for me. $80+k on a vehicle? I just can't justify that and that is ok. Good fortune and heath to all that can!
Wise choice, 95%of the people on here with a Cybertruck can’t afford it, including me. If financing was required, it‘s not affordable. No tax credit puts it out of my already stretched budget for me. $80+k on a vehicle? I just can't justify that and that is ok. So no mortgage for a house? If financing was required, it‘s not affordable.
House is something need to live, a $100k truck is not something you need. They have options for less than $5k and if you get a loan because you can put your $100k in a better interest gaining account, then you don’t need a loan to get the truck, you just chose a loan.So no mortgage for a house?
Having 100k on hand versus in a tax deferred retirement account isn't necessarily better financially.
That's exactly how it work. it's in the process of classification with whatever info and details Tesla has provided. That's not how it works though. The manufacturer tells the IRS which vehicles it makes qualify and IRS puts it on the list.
Tesla is using cathodes imported from China for its 4680s. As of Jan 1 2024, that disqualifies the vehicle from the Clean Vehicle Credit. Panasonic sourced cells would enable getting the credit.
