What do you mean by its current state? It is always going to get better with each update. But some controls are not well thought out. Why do you have a percentage over a speed limit? Why can’t I just say go 10 over ?‍♂
Because a fixed percentage just makes more sense. If you are in a 10 mph zone, and 10% increase puts you at 11 mph rather than doubling it to 20.

First off I really want FSD to succeed and I know it will get there in the future. But right now I’d give it a C. A couple small things would give it major improvements:
- go the damn speed that the driver wants. I’m on a non busy highway where the speed limit is 75. I have the speed set to 85 and it only drives at 79. This is on a flat road.
- start planning earlier! FSD loves to wait until the last second before it’s like “oh crap, I have to get over to make a turn”. Often times it misses.
- have just a lane keeping function so you can tow on the highway. This isn’t even FSD.

FSD on the Model Y has gotten better so I can’t wait for the Cybertruck to improve.
Speed ? Fsd is about safety. Added velocity over the posted limit is contrary to its goal.

In what way is CT different / worse than Y ?

The basic difference is that CT uses E2E for freeway as well and Y (still) doesn't.

The basic difference I see is that CT seems to take sharper turns and this closer to the curb than my 3.

The 10% doesn’t make sense either. I could see a variable scale. At lower speeds you have a higher percentage (say 50% at 10mph so at least it will go 15mph) and at higher speeds a 10% (say 10% at 70mph so you get 77mph.
I think the better solution is based on a transition speed, say 60. Under 60 it adds 5mph and over 60 it adds 10mph. But I think the key is for FSD to actually drive the speed it is set for. Is the speed limit is 65 and the max you set it for is 75 then FSD should go 75!

It just handles better on the Y (I have both a Y and CT). And Everday Chris verified this on a recent video he did.

CT is the only one on 12.5.5 which has been a huge step backward from 12.5.0-4

What does that mean "handles better" ? Need to be more precise / descriptive. In what way does Y "handle better" ?

I don't see that much difference between my 3 and the CT.

ps : EVen in earlier versions 3/Y always worked better than S/X. I think Tesla doesn't train much for the bigger vehicles - so that probably applies to CT as well. This showed up in cases like driving on narrow streets.

That could be the case. 12.0-4 was total crap in my X but then it got really good with 12.5.

Regardless of percentage vs set increase it means nothing if it still drives 5-10 mph below what I set it at

If anything my FSD exceeds the speed limit by up to 10 mph and doesn’t see the changes in speed limit, so I took an exit ramp where the speed limit was down to 35 mph and fsd had never slowed down.
was going out of a strip mall parking lot where it was a left turn then quick right and it totally misjudged and was about to curb it…it just bricked. I had to manually back up then reengage fsd.

right now = C

people don't understand basic physics like gravity. coding a variable percentage speed limit would simply blow their minds into orbit.

What version does your Model Y have?
