Just got offered to configure a non-Foundation CT but I'm around 402,000 in the queue! WTF! Did many thousands of pre-orders before me cancel? Why am I being offered a delivery in October/November when I'm so far down the list?!!! And how long do I have to configure before losing my place in line? (I wasn't expecting to be able to get it so soon). Thanks!

I think we will see some patterns emerge. Having a Tesla already may/may not be a factor. Even signing up for the accelerated delivery when you had to prove you were a shareholder. Who knows?

Tesla makes no sense at all , I just got the offer on the 4th. I placed it and didn't get a delivery date,( Oct-Nov) just that I'll get a txt for the next step. I sent in the ID and DL,, I was RN11305, about 276,000-330,000 in line,, I'm a stock holder and a two time owner, Model 3, Rav4 EV. Who knows how this game is ran...

This morning after taking my kid to pee-wee soccer we stopped at Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. The cashier warned me that the person prepping the hot food orders was not using the order numbers on our receipts. Within 10 minutes the store was filled with upset customers and 20+ cars waiting in the drive thru

I think that food prep person was a former Tesla Cybertruck pre-order employee

The truck is still 60% more expensive than the reveal price and a third more than the average new truck price. That's going to suppress demand.

No matter how much value there is in the truck, only so many people can afford it.

There's also no extended range model yet.

Lastly, 30-50k have already ordered trucks ahead of you this year.

What's your RN and when did you reserve it? Thanks.

Either it’s moving out of order a bit, or they’re moving through the non-FS list faster than FS.

I feel like I read ā€œwaiting for non foundation!ā€ a thousand times over the past year. How many of those will actually convert, vs how many are not there financially or are otherwise kicking tires. Who knows?

There will be quite a few Rest of the World reservation holders on that list. I’m going to wait until my anniversary comes up in February but think thats when I will pull the plug and get the Ā£100 refunded.

Seems like you just wanted to brag about getting an invitation early... ?

But realistically, the speed of the queue is probably correlated to the response rate. By that, I mean all zero day reservations were sent first, if everyone replied they wanted one, then the next batch wouldn't be sent out until the orders can be fulfilled in a reasonable time. If no one responds at all, then next batch is sent out for responses.

Except, there are a lot of reasons why it could be moving faster or slower.

- People may not have their financing ready; life happens
- People may not want to commit at the current price
- I had a co-worker not even realize he had gotten the email and asked me how I got mine so quickly. I told him to check his email and he saw he had gotten the invite about 45 days ago but he didn't realize it.

Whatever the reasons are, I'm glad those who want one will be able to get them sooner than later.

If this turns out to be a niche vehicle with only 300,000 to 500,000 sold, that's cool too. Looking forward to seeing the refreshed model sooner than later.

Seems like every few days there is a discussion about order numbers and fulfillment order. Not sure why it keeps getting discussed.

Multiple factors: Trim, location, etc.

It is not at all comparable to a drive thru line. You’ll get your invite when you get your invite. You’ll get your VIN when you get your VIN. That’s it…that’s the story.

As far as price…good grief…stop whining. Buy it or don’t. Absolutely no one expected it to cost what it was originally estimated at.

No one ā€œneedsā€ a CT.

Good day!

- 60% more than reveal price as an estimated MSRP - until production almost 5yrs later - after covid and supply chain changes or hardships - as well supply & manufacturing cost changes over the 5 yrs and covid constraints and price gouging.

- IF you can afford it, you buy it no matter what - if not, you sit on Tesla boards and talk the walk instead of walking the talk.

- All models thus far are extended range capable - just order the extedned battery and once it is in stock it will be delivered to local SC for installation as permanent. Tesla in an interview with Munro Industires stated that in their studies, the average American travels less than 40 miles RT per day, most will not require the extended battery. Super Charging network sustains probably 99% of everyone’s travel route to destination. Hence making range almost negated as a measurement in my opinion.

- There were a lot of people ordering and later changing their mind, but at least that number is also matching up closely to actual deliveries so far.

Because the thousands upon thousands of pre-orders never existed In the first place.

IMO Tesla very possibly could have created the appearance of high demand by ā€˜inflating’ the number of reservations by skipping numbers. To my knowledge only a few reservation holders posted their entire RN number so there’s no way of proving or disproving my theory. Nevertheless, Tesla pulls all kind of s__t and I certainly would not put it past them to create artificial demand in order to make it look like the Cybertruck is ā€˜Selling’ like hotcakes.
