I have had basically identical issues to the OP although I've only driven around 200 miles on FSD so far. Following way too close at highway speeds, lane centering issues, speed issues. Twice I'm incredibly confident it was going to hit a wall and last night I think we were one inch from hitting my son's car while he was parked. Despite all of this I enjoy using it. I really enjoy driving but I also have times where it's nice to be able to split my attention a bit for something else PLUS I like giving feedback when things go poorly thinking I'm contributing in my incredibly small way to the future of autonomy.

What had you arriving at 4%? That definitely doesn't sound like the Tesla Nav, which is more like 20%.
the Nav system can be wrong too. On our way home from Denver last July we were charging in Pendleton, OR at the casino with our ā€˜destination’ being the Hood River SC. I don’t recall the SoC when it gave us the ā€˜go to go’ notification, however, while driving 75, we hit a serious headwind that was coming up the Columbia River and got a notification that we needed to stop at the Dalles SC before continuing on to Hood River.

I thought the nav system was supposed to considering weather in it’s algorithm, but in this case it didn’t work. Also, we drove 75-80 the entire trip but this was the only stretch where we experienced this issue.

Nice write up.

I will be reporting these similar experiences to Tesla so they can correct it.

We are supposed to report it via voice command but it seems as dangerous.

I hope you do too.

Sorry folks, but I failed to mention we were driving our MYP because at the time we hadn’t taken delivery of our Cybertruck.

I'm still overall impressed and love finally having FSD but weekend highlights (in addition to this I posted on other thread).

Left turn issues remain an issue.

Literally stopped on RR tracks when it noticed the stop sign late. It was partially blocked by trees, but it becomes visible just before you get on to the tracks and is placed before the tracks.

Gets very confused if there's construction and barrels or cones anywhere near your exit. In one instance, it looked like it was going to exit fine and even had the right turn signal on, there were no cars in right lane next to is and it just kept going past the exit.

Construction in general create some serious pucker factor moments more often then not.

Does not get over to correct lane to exit soon enough in heavy traffic.

It does include winds, but forecasts can be wrong.

And FYI, the voice reporting has been there for years.

I've posted about this in another thread. It's not showing yet as I seem to be in post embargo by the moderators (I don't know nor warned about any infraction).

Email to [email protected] or use voice command after you did an intervention (only did it once as it seems dangerous with the distraction while driving).

Which AFAIK, pretty well gets you nowhere.

tesla nav on ct always gave me 6-7%, but never to 4%.
Learned my lessons in Montana-Alberta. Remaining range estimate swing in my case was off 22% and weather was mild.

Had I sticked to 80% charging limit advisory, I would have been stranded into EV charging deficient locales.

I’ve driven with FSD for about 150 miles on controlled access highways and haven’t seen the speed issues, or following too close issues you described. Lance centering wasn’t perfect but was better than I usually do. I observed the FSD system edging away from adjacent trucks that crowed my lane.

I wonder if some of my FSD configuration parameters are different than yours.
What settings do you use? I've tried both modes and they are both absolutely atrocious compared to what v11 in my 22MS was like.

It's either just below the speed limit, or 10-15mph under the speed limit.
Never hitting the speed limit and definitely not going +5 as I have it set.
I live in Texas where going the speed limit is very frowned upon lol
But taking a 35mph corner at 18-20 when 35 is natural just isn't great....

My other main issue atm is (and has been since FSD was released) is lane selection is still not great.....I was on the highway with exit coming up, was 2 lanes over from the exit lane, and Truck waited until the last minute to try and merge across 2 lanes and had I not taken over might of hit the guard rail splitting the last 2 lanes. Then the lane merge heading towards my house, it will wait until you're supposed to turn right to realize it's in the wrong lane virtually every time :D

I’ll take a screen photo and post it.
I’m in the DFW area.

Yeah lane selection is iffy sometimes like being in the right lane when you have to turn left and then crossing over at the last second.
Running the automatic speed offset which sets a natural speed. I can turn that off and in with an offset but with FSD and it randomly choosing speed limits for the highway 70/55/ 45 it will slow down to 55 and the offset from the 70 plus offset randomly. Natural (automatic set speed offset option) really doesn’t do that.
I have tried changing from chill to standard acceleration and really no obvious change there either from FSD but I leave it on standard just to have the power when I need it.

Please do, I can't get any consistency out of this like I was on my 22MS with v11 .-.

The lane selection was awful in v11, literally would move over into the opposite lanes before a turn. So this is "better" but still not that great. I'm assuming it's due to the new highway stack because v11 on the highway didn't have the same issue (I sold my 22MS the day I got v12 on it so I didn't get to test it sadly to compare the two)
