Towed the new Alto 2124 camper from Quebec City to Richmomond VA 1,00 miles and averaged 602 wpm driving speed limits

Just finished 5,000 miles going to Yellowstone and Teton Parks in Wyoming and averaged exactly the same wpm.

Trailer and truck loaded is just over 10,000 lbs as I went to the scales to get my hitch adjustment tuned correctly.

Charging at campgrounds worked perfectly and was over 1/3 of total charging for this last trip.

Did not miss FSD which is disabled when towing anyway.

Drove from Shell Wyoming 3,000 ft, up to over 9,000 feet in 40 miles in the Big Horn Mtns. Used 30% going up. Gained 10% coming down so 80 miles I used 20% while towing.

Interstates suck life and range. Back roads and secondary roads give way more range and scenery.

Happy to answer questions!

Very cool thanks for sharing. You have more confidence than I would have had for towing long distances and being able to charge. Did you have to unhitch your camper to be able to charge?

This has always been annoying, but you get pretty quick at it.
I'll second that.

Without levelling bars, I can drop or hitch in less than 3 minutes. With the levelling bars, probably add a minute.

And hint with levelling bars, once they are adjusted and you are hitched to the vehicle, lift the tongue up further to reduce the force needed to lock the levellers in place.

Only one time! In Sheridan WY. Only 4 chargers in the corner of a parking lot. Asked people to move to another slot 3 times and all 3 were happy to help!

Exactly. In Highest Ride Level, you can pop the tension bars on or off! Easy!!

Do you use any apps (other than Tesla) to help you find EV chargers?

@MeadowShade what brand/model weight distribution hitch to you have? Like it..? TIA.
Trailer is an Alto Safari A2124 built in Canada. Dry it is 2,500 lbs. loaded with gear and water a little over 3,000 lbs.

Sleep 3 easy but two is more room.

The hitch is a Fastway e2. Works fine. With the easy lift on the truck, putting it up to high changes the tension on the bars so a good tug puts them in place.

I tried. What crap they are.
used a public one in WY and it only had a CCS2 plug and my Tesla adaptor won’t work on the truck because of the shape of the hole on the plugging port. I got and extension for the Nacs plug but it is only good for 12 watts and nearly melted it because the charger was 85. 4 others in various locations failed after a minute or so or would not activate.

charging at campgrounds is easy and free, just slow so overnight is best and just used my mobile charger from Tesla.

I tried but only had success with Tesla and camp grounds.

If you like to roll and get there, keep it. Charging does limit you in time some days. Our plan was to start the day with 90+% from the campground, stop 150 miles later and charge at lunch, then 150 more miles to campground.

that only happened two days as we did not have chars at the point we needed then so most days we had to stop twice to charge. Plus, most the chargers out in the rural west are 150’s.
