I have a UWC at my parking space about 40 feet from my condo. It is supplied via a 60 amp breaker in my 200 amp electrical panel in my condo. Since getting Tesla to honor their commitment and provide me with Powershare equipment and installation cost contribution, I want to figure a way to use the truck's power to feed into my condo. Is there a legal and safe way to do this if I use some type of transfer switch or lockout? Can I simply somehow plug the truck's 20 bed outlet into the UWC to accomplish this? Or perhaps would I need to install a 14-50 outlet into the feed that is currently supplying my UWC. Thanks for any suggestions you migh provide.

Can you give photos of the panel outside, with door open, and the inside of the door?

There are manual interlock kits for generators that allow a generator plug to backfeed the panel. This would require a cord to the 14-50 outlet in the truck. Backfeeding the UWC circuit would not be intrinsically safe.

Are you saying that you got Tesla to pay for the installation of PowerShare or that you are going to.

Your question suggest that you are going to. I believe that everyone will tell you that they won't in many situations, Condos probably being one of them.
Many Condo associations won't approve them.

If you get PowerShare installed, then there's no point to your question. The installers will set it up and power whatever loads they determine possible. That includes the transfer switches.

If you don't get it, then it's up to you to get an installed to effectively install a "generator inlet" outside and that will usually require Condo approval as well as municipal codes. As part of the generator inlet installation, the correct loads will have to be determined, and switches installed as appropriate.

They dropped a word or two. No Powershare installation coming from Tesla. Looking for alternative.

Nope. They played the "ineligible due to additional approvals needed" card so we don't have to give you the $6,500 we led you to believe you were getting, but here's $1,100.00. and free Supercharging for a year that you will rarely use. As a result, I have just filed for arbitration. I'll see how that goes.

In my state condo boards have to approve them and I already received approval.

Yup. seems likely I won't get it unless I prevail in arb.

The only feasible way, if at all possible, for me to do the CB back to condo power is if it can somehow be routed from the bed outlet back through the 6 gauge feed that is supply the UWC from a 60 amp breaker in my condo's panel. This would then require some type of switch or lockout so no power goes out to the grid. Other option is to snake a new line from a plug that I could install at the pedestal. Then plug the bed's 240 into that plug and shoot the power back to my panel in some fashion. Obviously I know very litte about this and we have a pro do it if it is at all possible. Thanks for the advice and comments.

The other option is to have a Tesla installer put in Powershare (not through Qmerit). They might still be able to get you the $4k credit.

My condo was willing to “hear what was offered” in terms of getting PowerShare installed. They requested a quote from the installer and what work would be done. Then they approve or deny it. I didn’t move forward with it because I’ll be moving.

I had a generator interlock installed. This is what prevents you from back-feeding into the grid. Google will show you pictures of one. Then, you run a massive cord from the 240 in the truck to your panel. I tested mine today and it worked great and cost me less than $2000. You need absolutely nothing from Tesla in order to do this.

I am running my house off the 240 in the truck to the generator input point the same way I would plug a generator into the house. It is currently working
