Heading out for a long trip and wanted to have an option of CCS charging, everything on amazon that's for sale is for other models but not for compatible with cybertruck.
There was a post where a guy cut off a corner in order to fit the charger into the port and clear the fender flare, but I wasn't a fan of cutting a hole into the adapter.
The other option is what people do with the EVject and a normal adapter, but that's a $400 option soups to nuts.
Alternatively, there is a cheap adaptor on amazon that does not specify that it will work for cybertruck, but for $80 it was worth a try to make it work. So here is the progress and hopefully someone else will find the info useful.
Here is the adaptor on amazon, I suppose you can use any of the aftermarket ones, but I liked this one since its so slim
Out of the box - it does not fit and the lower left corner rubs the fender flare.
To take it apart, this is the tool that you will need, has to be slim and long.
This is what's inside
Now the fun part, I used the hot air gun (~400C) to melt the corner of the casing to clear the fender flare.
So you simply point the air gun and melt the corner and you don't have to melt a lot, here is the final product.
The corner is far away from the metal parts and there is not alterations to the actual charging components, this changes solely the casing.
And yes, it works! Charges like normal.
