Just so I can understand the EV tax credit situation... There are 2 points people are waiting on clarification for...
1. if the CT's will even qualify for the credit
2. if it qualifies, people are waiting for Point of sale vs getting it at tax filing. Either way they will get it eventually.

That pretty much sum it up?
If it qualified, point of sale would already be active.
Post 2023, vehicle credit must be approved via the portal at time of sale even if waiting until tax filing to claim it.

Time of sale would be when you pay in full for the car so if you “order” with the $250 deposit and don’t take delivery for a few months, it’s likely the credit will be active if it qualifies. There’s no way the delivery date is October November with everyone getting an invite. This happened with the model, date ended up being pushed out several months

Sure, what I was saying is it can't retroactively qualify after delivery (paid in full date doesn't matter).
There is no "eventually" for deliveries where point of sale was not offered/ credit eligibility not confirmed.
There may be an eventually where new production is stated by Tesla to qualify.

I will be curious so see how the prices for used FoundationS CyberTrucks sitting on the dealer lots change now… seeing as FullSelfDriving does not transfer with the truck.. or does it.. what is the story on this as of today?
Tesla is so dishonest. $3500 AT price is with with the wheels and tires. Tires cost may be $1500 total.

Why wouldn't it stay with the truck?

I still don’t understand why FSD package is necessary if you can just pay monthly. Isn’t it like $100/mo? It’d take about six years to break even.

It's a price point, not a wholesale cost
If you don't want to pay $3.5k for different rubber and rims, then don't.
Sure, they are just being dishonest. $3500 is the cost with tires and wheels.

I just hope they don’t lowball me too much on my ModelYP trade in.

I do own it and they can easily put it in the upcoming RoboTaxi fleet

At the present conversion rates it looks like the Cybertruck may be facing a demand problem in 6-12 months. The $61k RWD trim may be offered sooner than we think.

I’m talking about the Used Foundation Series CyberTruck which is sitting at the Lexus Dealer lot… in the past (sometimes) the FSD only was for the original owner.. once the vehicle left the original owners possession FSD was de-activated

So assuming we DO magically get it for current day CT's (which you've said is not going to happen due to the cathodes) We wouldn't be able to retroactively take advantage of the credit?

This is for the standard EV credit btw not the commercial one.
