The CT Average Transaction Price will obviously drop when non-Foundation CTs become widely available. But even if it falls by $20,000 (the amount of the Foundation Series premium), the ATP will still be above $90,000.

I think Tesla wasted an opportunity to produce a more conventional, less expensive truck that shared design features with the Model X and Model Y. Could have been positioned as a competitor to the Ford Maverick, not the Ford F-Series. A Model X is almost exactly the same length (within an inch) of a Maverick.

The MSRP of a 2024 Ford Maverick XL hybrid starts at $25,670 (the ICE-only version starts at $23,920). Ford has trademarked the "Maverick Lightning" name, which suggests that a fully electric version is on the way. I would guess that it will cost more than the ICE and hybrid versions, but a lot less than the non-Foundation CT.

I still love the CT but I doubt they will be able to lower the price enough to sell to the 60K market.

Sounds like you’re in the used truck market, which is not a bad thing. I’ve owned over 2pm cars in my life, and only bought 2 new ones. I regret the first one, 2004 F-150, for about $18,000, because it was just too expensive. The second one in my CyberBeast(Still too expensive) and I can afford it now and love it. But my next one will probably be used again.

“the market for trucks this expensive is low” ? The raptors over 100k the lighting if you get the best packet 95k the Chevy diesel 2500 is 90k plus. Seems right on par and I don’t see any of them dropping but you got to do what’s best for you

Lightning is about $85k top trim. ICE is having massive sales. Fully loaded GMC Denali 1500’s for low $60’s with msrp of $80k. I’m seeing stuff for $12k off in Texas which is truck country.

Discounts. Same way I got my brand new Lightning Lariat extended range for about $62k last December. Got my CT invite, but no tax credit and lacking the range I need. Point is that the car market is soft as it is, just reiterating what the other poster said about the market for expensive trucks being small. We’re not in the low supply, low interest rate environment of a couple of years ago. The dealerships are overflowing with unsold trucks and buyers have to contend with high interest rates.

I created a CT reservation in mid-July of this year (RN 12222XXXX). Just two weeks later (Aug 2nd) we were invited to configure a Foundation Series. Today we received an invite to configure a non-foundation series. I went to the configurator and built a DM which showed Oct-Nov delivery (presumably out of inventory). Same for CyberBeast. So I am calling it: original (US) reservation list is basically finished.

The order list is far from exhausted, the 2024 Cybertruck production is going to be about 120,000 units. (5000+ delivered in August)
2025 production is expected to be doubled to 250,000.
Tesla stated goal is annual production of 350,000.
I'm #600k, so I'll expect delivery near the end of 2025 or early 2026.
With an order backlog of nearly 2 million you don't have to be a Fooking genius to figure out that the order list is a long way from being exhausted.

Used trucks are kinda useless to me. I don't want a truck bigger than a Cybertruck. I want a battery on wheels.

The EV market is still growing.

Automation isn't yet legal or existing. He's jumping the gun and sinking the company.
