There are multiple lines at the Austin factory, and so far they've installed presses into each of the corners. At least, that's what it looks like.

Huh? They are installing the stamping machines in the SE corner. They have installed 1 of the 6000-ton gigapresses in the NE corner, with pads already built for 2 more. And that is it so far.

I have to wonder how long this machine will take to be made, trucked to a port, put on a ship to Texas, unloaded, shipped to tesla, installed, kinks works out and producing parts. I have no real idea but i'm guessing the last two numbers of the date are both 2's. I hope i'm wrong

That pic was clearly the 6,000-ton machine. It says so right on it. OL-6100 CS. Same model as is in Giga Austin right now. So they don't even have one to show us yet. They might still be designing the thing :-(
Not a problem, the final design will be shown "in a month or so". ;)

That's my new favorite answer to almost everything.

Anyone have a guesstimate on the price tag of this giant machine?

I may be way off but my guess would be around $8M but probably closer to $20M?

Will this factory only build CybertruckS? Or are they planning on multiple lines here?

Well that'll never happen! *snuffing out recent news articles of mysterious fire in Fremont* don't look, don't look! ?

With the amount of backorders Tesla has for the CT (over 1.5mil!), I'm sure to them the cost of a 2nd unit to double production and also have a backup in case 1 "magically stops working" is trivial compared to the ability to bang out over a million of these in the next couple years. ? I wouldn't be surprised if they ordered more, TBH!

I suppose you could divide the IDRA annual revenue by the number of machines they sell in a year but they make different sized machines. I suppose someone could just ask them...
