For those that are on the fence between the CT1, CT2, and CT3, I thought this was a fun illustration...

Your Reddit content is not loading for me on multiple devices. I am just re-posting your top image here for others that may have the same issue.

Those numbers are for full charge. It seems like it drops off when you go under 75%

Accelerating quickly with something heavy like CT feels just wrong but if you had to, even CT1 would beat most cars on the road today. I want to see miles per KWH comp. If it was a regular ICE, it would be more of a difference in City than on the highway. The weight difference between CT1 and CT2 is probably not as large as it is between CT2 and CT3 (battery pack and additional motor). What I am curious about is that if regen makes the difference negligible. That is unless the driver has lead foot.

This is pretty cool. So what if you switch from a SM to TM or DM to a TM, do you lose your place in line?

In car guy terms, the CT3 sent both CT2 and CT1 to gapplebees. Glad to know that Elon is keeping the CT3 the fastest and best EV truck for the money.

Two things...
1) Everyone keeps calling the CT heavy. I disagree. The truck the CT3 will replace for me is a 3/4 ton diesel Ram 2500 megacab. The curb weight of that truck is 7300 lbs. Even a 4wd F-150 weighs 5000 lbs without the gas. The CT3 is estimated to weigh in the range of 5k to 6k lbs. That is much less than a diesel and on par with a full tank of gas F-150.

2) Acceleration is important to me. Driving back road 2 lane highways with speed limits of 75 mph, there is way too many times I can tell you that acceleration is important to safely get around a slow poke that is hauling something anywhere from 45 to 70 mph and you have only so much room to get around before you lose visibility to do so safely. A nimble, fast, capable truck with good acceleration is fantastic. My Ram is fast and has tons of torque, but I wouldn't exactly call it nimble. It does what I want very well, but the CT3 would do it even better, IMO. But let's please stop calling it heavy. It is heavy by car standards, but it is light by big truck standards. The fact I can put a pallet of protein (1 ton) in the back with ease like I can with my diesel or just run it with suspension lowered a little and drive it like a pseudo sports car at will makes me want it so much more. Going to the ranch with a heavy payload...check CT3 has that in the bag. Going to ranch with just essentials, CT3 is now a supertruck that handles like a corvette (maybe better?) and will drive me the majority of the way with FSD. Want to have a little fun, I take over and try not to get a speeding ticket. Hurry up Tesla...I need my CT3.

My first order was a single Motor, I changed it 2 weeks later for a tri motor version and my order number was still the same...but that was back on the 3rd of December 2019.... dunno if things have changed since.

The ¼ mile time for the single motor CT1 RWD is “typical” production acceleration existing auto mfgr’s offer. It beats my single motor Chev 5.7VORTEC 4x4. Very respectable time but no racer.

The ¼ mile time for the dual motor CT2 AWD approaches “performance” car acceleration such as a standard Camero off the showroom floor. It fricking amazing that a 5000# truck is putting up these numbers. CT at 13 sec. is quick but 104 mph is not fast when it passes through the finish line timer.

Tri-motor CT3 AWD acceleration times are insanely quick covering a ¼ mile under 9 sec. The tri-motor passes 100mph ~6 sec mark and flies through the timer at 130+ mph one second after it hits 100mph. No words can explain the surprise that Tesla’s electric motors are still building horsepower to pull that “hot rod” trick off.

Three motors puts “very” exceptional racecar performance into the hands of the everyday Tesla driver. Albeit 6000lb. mass moving really *&#%@/= fast in seconds. Holyshit Batman!

perhaps it’s time to look at those numbers again. <12 sec != <9 sec

Good catch! My Bad accepting imbedded pics. The image just imprints a ÂĽ in upper RH corner. Mistook the red line 7:38 elapsed as timing from the gun at Finish.

Thanks @SSonnentag...no longer unbelievable.

I agree with you completely! I have an old f250 and I have the same capability except only 3 passenger and nothing but a stereo and crap speakers (yes, I love it this way). I regularly drive rural roads and gravel, and the scenario about blind corners and short/no passing lane is real. I read the stats for the dual motor and despite the tri-motor handing it its ass, there is very little on the road to compare otherwise. I think I will save my place in line and gladly receive my dual motor.
