Congratulations Dr. Shah. You'll love it. I'm guessing the wife will get the Y?
Yes sir, thank you! I already got a VIN assigned a day later! Yup Wife will get the Y for now, then eventually give my son the Y when he goes to highschool and get her the Rivian R1S eventually.

Wish you got AT tires like me though!

tl;dr "Dude, AS tires? Really?!?

I was surpised when, back in May, I got the nod to order my Cybertruck, having dropped a benjamin on it Dec 10, several days after the reveal. I slept on the offer and ordered the Beast the next day, tactical gray, AS tires/core wheels. Delivery was estimated Oct-Dec, which was a perfect timeframe for me. Fast forward to mid September and I'm picking up my beast at the SC. Since then the experience has been positive, not one person:

Not the guy who was frantically honking his horn next to me at a stop ligth not 1/4 mile from picking up the Cybertruck:
Guy: Hey that's cool
Me: (rolling down my window) Just picked it up 5 minutes ago
Guy: No way! I need some pics!
Me: I give him a ?and he gets a pic before the light changes

Not the elderly lady and gentleman that stops me in their older Chevy pickup:
Lady: Do you mind if my husband checks out the interior?
Me: No not at all.
He steps out of the passenger side and approvingly inspects the interior of the Cybertruck. He was a retired attorney who recently bought a M3 and wanted to check out the beast.

Not the kids who get dropped off by the bus after school and yell and jump up and down when I drive by.

Not the elderly gentleman who stood centerline, in the middle of a parking garage, at a local grocery store while I parked the beast. I walk toward him:
Gentleman: Can I ask you what that thing is?
Me: It's a Cybertruck.
Gentleman (shaking his head): 'Wow, that's cool.' He walks back to his car where his wife is loading up the groceries.
Lady: What did he say it was?
Gentleman: Its a Cybertruck.
Lady: Oh my!

Not the father who stopped me at my favorite landfill as I was unloading 25 years of cruft.
Father: 'You can say no, but my son would really like to see the inside of a Cybertruck' (in an 'asking for a friend' tone, wink, wink)
Me: 'Of course he can.' I opened both passenger doors, the young man, maybe 10-ish, jumps into the passenger side, his father into the back seat. We talk for about 10 minutes before they go on their way.

Not the guy on the other side of me at the landfill, inspecting the HFS SS panel near the tailgate.
Guy: 'Wow that's thick, look at this.' as he pokes the rear panel of his crossover as it oilcans.
Me: 'The doors are event thicker, you can whack it with a sledgehammer.'
Guy: Walks away, shaking his head.

Not the guy who was charging his MY at the local grocery store. We struck up a conversation for about 20 minutes about his MY and my Cybertruck.

Not the Scouts at the local hardware store selling their fund raisers at the exit of the store. I offered to drive up and let them check it out when I finished shopping.

Not one person said "Dude, AS tires? Really?!?"

No regrets.

Wife and I trained at NBI but we matched in different states for fellowship (Indiana University for me and she matched at University of Miami for Neuroradiology) we ended up following her parents to South Florida (I had no choice ?). I miss my days at Rutgers College, I have spent way too much money consumed too many calories on Easton Ave ?.
