Yea, my set up is complete and looks great. Give me a day or 2 and I'll post the details.
Thanks. I stopped in a local shop here in GA today and they carry the RUE 2, R9, and Escort Redline CI 360. They recommended the escort and suggested added a 3rd sensor in rear. They want to do 48-12v step down and custom install near where rear-view mirror was (pulled it out). Still looking at the units myself to make a decision on equipment and whether i just do it again this time myself.

Following this thread. I've seen the Antilaser and the new Uniden recommended on rdforum.org pretty frequently. Their testing threads are definitely worth reading!

Jamming radio signals, including RADAR, is 100% illegal everywhere.

LASER, however, is not technically a radio signal, and can be jammed with impunity.
Interference with the operation of an electronic device is. Also, laser is also a wavelength, and also qualifies as a transmission.

Laser jammers operate on light (infrared) rather than radio waves, they fall outside the FCC’s jurisdiction and not covered by other Federal laws. Some states however do prohibit.

Jammers are legal in most states. Speeding is illegal in every state. pick your poison.

Correct. There are no consumer radar jammers on the market and I wouldn't touch them anyway. The FCC would put you under the jail for using them.

ALP or nothing IMO. I've been running them for 10 years and was even on an independent team that helped these jammer manufacturers. Without getting too technical, ALP is the best on the market bar none.

Here are the long awaited pictures. Sorry about the delay. I had a cold for what felt like a month and couldn't seem to shake it.

I drove down to Tint World in Orlando to get this work done and they did a fantastic job! Man I am so impressed with the quality of the install.

The interior install is so clean. You can see the controller below the screen and the other LED on the far left. I might move or remove that LED. need to live with it for a bit first.

The CPU and wiring can all be accessed by removing the kick panel below the console. It's the panel thats completely horizontal (like a ceiling) and has a cut out for the LED footwell light on the passenger side. I LOVE this. it's super easy to access and work on if needed.

They installed 6 laser heads and 2 radar heads. The laser heads are visible and the radar heads are behind some trim pieces. The radar heads can see clearly as long as there isn't any metal in front of them (i.e. they have to be behind a plastic bumper, not metal). The radar heads are not as sensitive as I remember them so they might be partially eclipsed by metal. As a result, I may move them around a bit but more testing will be required.

Regarding powering the ALP, I know they took a constant power source from the trailer power (the circuit that powers trailer lights) and then used another circuit for the switch wire of the relay but I'm not sure which circuit it was. They intended on using the rear view mirror power (since it's unused) but it turns out that Tesla changed that one to be always on via a software update so they had to go to Plan B.

I was happy with this since the truck should already be expecting a variable load from the trailer lights and the other circuit is just used to trigger the relay. My ALP system turns ON and OFF with the center screen.

Here are some pics of the inside and the outside.

Let me know your thoughts! Also happy to answer questions if you have any!
JM

Points to note...

The FCC does *not* regulate LASER. That falls under FDA, not FCC.

Lets not harp on the OP or anyone else on using a laser jammer because the conviction rate of possessing/using one is much much lower than speeding tickets. Anyone in these forums who has sped in their vehicle has no right to throw stones at anyone using a laser jammer. Its at their risk just like when you step on that accelerator and go over the speed limit.

Other things to note... many of these have auto shutoff for when it detects a cop hitting you with laser. It will jam it for 3-4 seconds to give you time to slow down and shuts off, then the cops' laser will catch your speed. Some do it by time (3-4 seconds) and some do it by speed via GPS. Therefore the "catch" rate by LEO is really low. I don't personally know anyone who has been caught with it.

To the OP... I *love* ALP and that's the one I would want. Your install looks amazing. May I ask the total cost for the ALP and the installation? This is one of the items I really want to get. Your installer did a gorgeous job.

I already had the ALP system and the install was about $1,700 OTD. The ALP system I am running is the following:
  • ALP CPU V6 with Bluetooth, HIFI, GPS
  • 2 Netradar DSP Radar Detectors
  • 2 ALP TX Black heads
  • 4 ALP regular heads
  • 2 Laser extension cables
  • 1 Radar Extension cable

I bought it about 10 years ago and have been upgrading at as time goes on. you can build a new system with my config above on alpriorityusa.com. I know the owner. He's a great guy.

Just a note: If your install shop is a dealer for ALP, they'll usually give you a packaged deal of buying the system and having it installed. If they're not a dealer, then your cost will be the system + install.

Does this help? Not trying to be evasive, just haven't priced them as a whole in a while.
