My latest Cybertruck FSD video, watch in 4k -

In this 3 minutes video, we can see how our Tesla FSD Cybertruck takes us on a 1126 miles (1812 km) road-trip from San Francisco, California to Bend, Oregon and back. An action packed video, with California and Oregon experiences, with music by the Stray Cats.

This was on Tesla supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) v12.5.5 on a 2024 Foundation series AWD Cybertruck with HW4.

This round-trip took about 20 hours over multiple days, here are some highlights, sped up 8x with some music by the Stray Cats -

00:01 Our Cybertruck, took us on a road trip from California to Oregon and back, over 1000 miles (1609 km).

00:07 Tesla, full self-driving (FSD) v12.5.5 drove us using an end-to-end AI model, both on the highway and city streets.

00:15 We did not, touch the steering wheel, brakes, or accelerator pedals 99% of the time.

00:33 On YouTube, use "cc" to turn on captions, then use "Settings" â› to set the title captions to French ??, Portuguese ??, Chinese ??, or Hebrew ??.

00:29 Candlestick, this location was home for the San Francisco 49ers for many years, now replaced by the new stadium in Santa Clara (American Football ?).

00:41 San Francisco, downtown with the iconic Salesforce Tower and pyramid buildings in the horizon.

00:56 The Bay Bridge, connects the cities of San Francisco and Oakland, over the San Francisco Bay ??.

01:09 Berkeley, home of the California Golden Bears ?, University of Berkeley.

01:20 Autopark, is a feature where the Tesla Cybertruck parks itself, we used it on many pit stops.

See https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-0C763E08-D0B8-4404-8180-1054F635C08C.html

01:28 The Speed Limit, most of the time on highway I-5 was 70 MPH (112 KMH), so I set the Cybertruck's max speed to 79 MPH (127 KMH).

01:41 California Golden Hills, on the I-5, a United States ?? major highway that spans 1,381 miles (2,223 km) and runs north–south through the states of California, Oregon, and Washington

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_5

The I-5, highway traverses all of California, from Tijuana, Mexico in the south to Vancouver, Canada in the north.

01:52 The Tesla, Superchargers are extremely useful for road trips. We got often over 200 miles (321 km) of range in 15 minutes of charging!

02:07 Tesla now has, over 60,000 Superchargers in the United States ??, China ??, Europe ??, and all over the world.

See https://www.tesla.com/findus

02:19 Mount Shasta is a potentially active stratovolcano just south of Oregon. At an elevation of 14179 ft (4322 m), it is the fifth-highest peak in California, often snowy. ?

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Shasta

02:29 Weed, is a city in northern California, with an unusual name. ?

02:35 A Tesla Supercharger, Version 4 (V4) in Weed, California, with up to 250 kW of power! ⚡

See https://www.tesla.com/supercharger

02:45 Say Hi, to our puppy dog Hope. ? ?

02:47 The Cybertruck, is able to handle the roundabouts in Bend, Oregon - no problem. ?

02:53 We went, into "Off-Road" mode and at some point we used "Trail Assist".

See https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-1AD8BC96-CFD8-43B3-AF5F-9755BAAC8F3A.html and https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-9C572163-DB86-44AC-9842-AB6EE84D6441.html

03:00 Snow, in Crater Lake, Oregon, that was formed around 7,700 years ago.

Very nice. I currently have 3 urgent concerns with FSD. One, it will curb my left rear tire on just about every left turn where there is a dividing island, especially if there are more than one left turn lane and FSD will always take lane one and when there is another car turning next to my Cyberbeast, it's 100% that FSD will steer too close to the left and curb the left rear tire, thank goodness for the 35in AT tire ?
Second concern, again is while making a left turn, and if there is no center dividing island and I'm turning, FSD will sometimes turn into the opposite traffic lane one instead of my side of lane one, scary. Lastly, if I'm turning left from lane 2, FSD will go into lane 1 immediately after the turn, forcing cars on lane 1 to make evasive maneuver, also scary.

Same!

Not just scary, dangerous.

I don't know if I already caused a heart attack on 2 occasions where my CT was about going into head-on collision turning in ultra sharp left that it was into the opposing lane.

Those are all moments where you’re supposed to take over, hence the “supervised” name.

I’ve done a few in my Cybertruck - they’re about time and a half more than the cost for taking my Model 3 Performance in the past (I’ve done 5.5k mile trips in that)

Pretty impressive, but how many times did you have to hit the accelerator to get up to speed? My truck still wants to go 66-72 in a 65 when it's set to 85, unless nudged... once this is fixed I'll let it drive more.

My biggest issue with FSD currently is the speed issue. It will happily drive along the highway at the posted 65 mph, and when I get to a small "town" with a 45 mph speed limit it will VERY quickly (too quickly) slow down to the posted 45 mph. But then when the speed increases back to 65, it may take 5+ miles to get back up to 65 mph. I know it sees the 65 mph speed limit sign because the displayed limit changes back to 65 from 45. I don't understand how accelerating to the posted speed limit can possibly be overlooked by the FSD team.

EDIT: Actually, I don't know if it would ever return to the posted 65 mph speed limit, I've always been too impatient to wait. I've given it 5 miles a couple of times, and it never gets there. It does very gradually, over several miles, increase speed from to 52-62 mph though, so I'm assuming it would eventually get to 65, but who knows.

Didn’t look like you had to drive 11.26 miles out of the 1126 mile trip. Glad it is working so well for you! I find I arrive at destinations much less stressed with my FSD and actually see more on tre trips!

Great video. I love FSD and put the audio feedback when I have to take over.
@ehuna What camera and mount were you using and what did you use to make the video.

You're ahead of us, we have 6,944 miles on our CT, most of it on FSD.
