At this point I am convinced 2025’s won’t start production until 1/1/2025.

Not surprising about the lack of vehicles knowledge. I knew way more about the Model Y that we purchased in 2021 than the sales rep.

To give them credit they need to know facts about the Model X, Model Y, Model 3, Model S and now the Cybertruck.

Taking delivery on sunday 2024 51K serial. Not waiting for 2025, Tesla historically hasnt done traditional model year upgrades, they normally just roll out constant changes whenever the line is ready to produce

I have to think they're making 2025 VINs now. I've never seen a model year switch this late if not. If anyone knows Joe Tegtmeyer (the Giga Texas drone guy), he could just zoom in on one of those window sticker codes on the windshield to confirm!

I think it was the M3 last year that they didn't switch to the new year until end of the year.

Edit: According to Reddit, the first 2024 Model 3s were delivered in January. Looks like they switched production the last week of December.

In my experience with Tesla it has always been if it’s made in 2024 it’s a 2024 if it’s made in 2025 it’s a 2025. So I would think January we will some 2025s. My 2023 Model Y was produced late December. I took delivery on December 31st and it was a 2023.

Tesla typically switches to new VINs in late November, but it has been earlier. There have been some instances where they wait. All other vehicles are already 2025 VINs that are being produced outside of the CT. The MY, even with the refresh coming out next year, are 2025s.

i wouldnt say that is typical. Maybe this year, but in years past they haven’t changed over. Like I said before my model Y I got last year on December 31st was a 2023. The date of production on the vehicle was December 17th
