Sorry, but if you think this fresh batch of FS and scrubbing of badging is in no way related to a demand issue, you are wrong. I am seeing nearly a dozen FS available for immediate pickup in my area that has never had any inventory CT's before.

Check this out. Tesla is buffing out FS badges on all leftover units and trying a new strategy.

https://electrek.co/2024/12/14/tesl...-badges-off-cybertrucks-sell-them-as-regular/
Huh. Didn't see that coming. I had just assumed that Tesla was sending FS CTs to stores/service centers all over the country in order to increase their availability. And I still think that Tesla will be happy to take any new sales from people who missed the FS before.

But if that story is true (and Electrek is offering zero proof, just anonymous sources and unspecified documents), then Tesla also has a Plan B and a Plan C.

Plan B: have the service centers refit the FS CTs to meet regulatory standards for Canada, where the FS is still being actively marketed.

Plan C: have the service centers "downgrade" the FS to non-FS, including buffing out the laser-etched badges, and selling them as non-FS CTs for $20,000 less. So this would be a form of "invisible" discounting.

If that story is true (and I stress again that Electrek is offering zero proof), then the newly available FS CTs around the country may not be available for long. If they don't sell, they could be transmogrified into Canadian FS CTs or into American non-FS CTs.

Order a CT recently?

Be suspicious of a lower VIN on delivery day. It may be a “buffed” Foundation Series truck.

The story also claims (again, without proof) that the transmogrification of FS CTs is now a significant factor affecting service center availability:
All these efforts are putting more pressure on Tesla’s service and collision center workforce – resulting in longer wait times for owners.

It’s not too late to be an early adopter! Tesla has just added a large number of Foundation Series Cybertrucks to its inventory system, at locations throughout the US. As of today (Friday 12/13), the Foundation Series is available for order again in 49 states (sorry Hawaii) and the District of Columbia.

To check out your options, go to the Tesla Inventory page, and make sure “New” and “Cybertruck” are selected. Then click below the “Inventory” label in the upper left, in the zip code field. This will bring up the “Search Area” box; enter your home zip code and select “All Deliverable”.

Tesla has kept the 2023 pricing: still $99,900 for AWD and $119,990 for CyberBeast; that includes FSD (Supervised) and numerous other extras. In most areas, multiple Foundation Series configurations are available. Since the non-Foundation Series is currently available as well, prospective CT buyers in the US now have more options than ever.
Fake news...This site needs to be limited to Cybertruck owners!!

Your public profile indicates that your location is Corydon, IN. Okay, simply click here to see the currently deliverable Foundation Series options for that zip code, according to Tesla.

Hmm, looks like you have multiple options: AWD FS with white interior, and Cyberbeast FS in either white or tactical gray. Contact the Indianapolis Castleton store for further details.

If Tesla had traditional dealerships, then sure, the dealers would discount older inventory to move it off the lot. Just standard retail practice.

But Tesla doesn't use the traditional dealership model. All Tesla stores are company-owned, with pre-determined prices set at Tesla HQ -- perhaps by Elon himself. The Tesla stores have no flexibility to offer discounts on their own. Seems like discounts could make sense in this situation, but no sign of them yet.
Tesla regularly discounts inventory vehicles. Especially towards the end of the quarter. They’ve been doing this for quite some time.

Yes, there is one FS Cyberbeast and one FS Cybertruck within my deliverable area. I'm so tempted ?

I was in Castleton last Friday for a trunk latch on my S. Two for test drives angled at front. Two in lot. I asked. They said for following week. One was being driving for a test drive at the time. The other was being sat in outside by someone. I am sure one could buy one.

I don't know why people give a crap about how many are on lots. Other automakers sometimes have many, and sometimes none. They won't be free I can guarantee it.

Side note. My S trunk latch was failing. It wouldn't stay shut eventually, and with that goes FSD. They fit me in, and had it fixed in 45 min before closing without an appointment on a Friday. Super awesome team.
Tesla Cybertruck Foundation Series is BACK (in Tesla online inventory)! Ind

You're right. I'm just saying that any discounts have to be initiated by Tesla HQ. The local Tesla store, unlike a traditional car dealership, has no ability to haggle or discount on their own, no matter how much inventory they may have on hand.

So far, there have been no Cybertruck-specific discounts; both the FS and non-FS have had the same pricing since they were introduced. Since we are now approaching not only the end of the quarter, but the end of the year as well, it seems like a great time for price adjustments.

I'm still trying to come to terms with how gullible some people are. Electrek is a garbage source of news, many of their so-called "sources" have ties to TSLA short-sellers (who are currently feeling the pain and want some relief).

CTs aren't selling well in the US now.
In October 2024, the CT was the best-selling BEV truck in the US, and the 6th best-selling BEV overall, behind only the Model Y, Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Chevy Equinox, and Honda Prologue. The numbers aren't bad, though they may be lower than Tesla's expectations.

Exactly but that still exceeds production. I assume that's why they are doing the rebuffs and looking to China so quick.
