Each one of these mindless fools raises our collective vehicle insurance each tine they cause a crash. It wasn't an accident. It was a crash. Some people really shouldn't have licenses.

I'm so upset.
I was rear-ended by someone last night. The other driver slammed into the back of my CT due to being distracted (cellphone). She never even slowed down.

Now I have to wait 3 weeks to find out if there is structural damage to the rear of the CT.

I researched online but haven't found anyone document their experiences with this type of accident so here I am.

I pray it's just a new bumper. You can see the tailgate has a mark from the other car's grill. But I believe it's just dirt, there's no scratch or dent on the tailgate.
To my untrained eye, it looks like just bumper damage.
make sure they check for structural damage to the chassis!

yeah...until it is people and injuries and death. I worked my ass off all my life to have the "stuff" I have. In this case some twat was driving and watching her phone because she didn't want to miss the latest Facebook post or dumb ass TikTok trend. When I started driving, you could not even have a Christmas tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror. Now people have phones at age 5 so they grow up with a phone attached to their personality.

I'm surprised her airbag didn't deploy. Bumpers must have matched up pretty well, didn't even knock her headlights out, was the Jeep drivable afterward?

Yea, that's why I'm particularly curious about the rear crumple zone on the CT.
I am no expert, but I believe crumple zones are designed to prevent deformation into the cabin to protect the passengers. I do not believe a rear crumple zone is needed because of its distance to the cabin, on a truck at least.

Rear impacts will almost always be lower speed than front end impacts, given that most cars are moving forward the majority of the time.

EDIT: Just found this on a lawyers website, not sure if it is accurate.
Modern cars are now designed with “crumple zones,” which absorb much of the energy from a collision impact, collapsing in such a way as to protect the passengers inside. Pickup trucks don’t have this, which means that a lot of the inertia from the crash hits the passengers.

They've specifically talked about the crumple zones built into the castings, that attach to, in this case, the trailer/bumper.

Hence, why I'm curious how they're fairing.

Not at all. I was really upset but I was waiting for her to apologize and she never spoke. Although I wanted to yell at her, I just couldn't do it. If she were a man, I might have voiced my opinion.

But I really thought she was under the influence of something so I was trying to observe her actions and record her through sentry.
What a total retard! Wait… that is an insult to anyone mentally challenged! Sorry about that… She’s whatever the insulting sentiment is that implies that she is a total moron… wait… that is an insult to morons… well, you get the idea.

The ones that I worry about are those that fly by you at 70+ while taking video or pictures of the Cybertruck. Yes, she is beautiful, but please put the phone down and watch the road!

I paid almost zero attention to her car but I do know she drove away. It looks as you said, "bumpers matched up well"

Obviously she wasn't paying attention, but I'm not sure that proves she's on her phone. There's something there, but that's an awkward position to hold you phone. I know my phone mounts to my CT screen, and that's probably how it would look in another rear view camera. It doesn't mean I'm using my phone.

I can't blame her for not apologizing, because that would be stupid of her as she needs to look out for her interest and anyone with common sense isn't going to admit fault. It was pretty crappy that she didn't ask if you were okay, but then again she did just get shaken up pretty badly and it seems like your still pretty pissed off, and she might have been scared to approach you. Did you ask if she was okay?

Regardless, I'm glad you're okay and hopefully they will get you and your CT reunited soon.

That does not look like a mount.
Looks more like a right handed person holding a phone...
