Maybe under the solar roof there is stored a single piece solar cover for the bed that slides out from under the roof. A thin carbon fiber panel with solar cells on the outside.The glass roofs are typically tinted, However this seems to make a lot of sense to my non-engineer mind. A fixed solar roof option seems WAY less complicated and more effective than a roll-up solar tonneau cover.
That would be much simpler than making solar slats for a rolling cover.
This would also make cabin to vault bed pass-through less complicated to implement.
Do you think that the tonneau cover is now a fixed sliding panel instead of a rolling segments?
