If I remember correctly, my FS 2024 wiper home position was that the wiper was not visible from the inside, like this:

Even after the initial wiper motor recall was done, the wiper was still parked out of the view. My new, high 70K vin, always parks the wiper that it is visible from the inside:

What's your wiper home position? Visible from the inside or not?

I think it should be possible to unscrew the arm from the motor shaft and re-attach offsetting enough so the wiper is out of the view but.... my FS had this horrible rattle while traveling at highway speeds generated by this nubbin at the bottom of the wiper:

the airflow would make it rattle, touching the wiper arm, but because of windshield sound isolation, speed, and wind, the rattle always appeared coming from right above drivers head, or the C pillar between the doors.

So, part of me wants move the wiper arm, but it doesnt really affect anything, just my mild OCD; the other part tells me not to touch it.

If your wiper arm park position is out of the view, do you get any rattles?

That doesn't look right. That would bother me. Mine was completely out of the way as one would expect.

It should be against the side, as that is the location of the wiper heater

Out of view for me. That would bug me too.

The wiper positions itself in view while driving once you hit a certain speed for aerodynamics. Under the the specified speed it should rest out of view.

Not on any CTs that I've driven (4 in total).

I think it's misaligned if it's in view in a resting position at any speed.

do you happen to know what that speed is? I test drive CTs extensively and on some the wiper was visible on on some it was not. angling it towards the middle of windshield to make it visible helps aerodynamics? hmm.. woudl like to understand that better if that knowledge is documented somewhere. thank you

It moves around 31mph or so, but it's such a minor adjustment. It's almost unnoticeable. It shouldn't just suddenly come into view...

The wiper should not be visible on the Home position. What you’re seeing is a misaligned wiper motor / wiper. This is exactly what my wiper Home position looked like when I had my wiper motor replaced 1 year ago and the tech didn’t align it correctly.

The result? 2 months later, during a torrential rainstorm, my wiper went into high mode and stripped where the motor actuated the arm.

I legit had my wiper stuck in the middle of the windshield while driving on the highway. Luckily, I was 1/2 miles from my exit so I slowly drove it home with my window down and trying to use the front bumper camera. Super dangerous to say the least.

From my experience, I would take it in and have them properly align it

Piggy back on koolio posted, I had the exact issue after wiper motor recall.

I drove a period of time and it didn't feel right, and my FS/CT (low 5000 vin) would try to readjust it back out of view, but the wiper would slip back into view (your current issue).

I took it back to the service center, they ran a diagnostic and did a firmware update, then confirmed it was misaligned and the "new wiper motor" that they just replaced was defective. YES, the reason we see misaligned wiper can be due to a batch of defective wiper motors, and not able to synchronize with the wiper assembly.

After that new wiper motor put in, the SC did a recalibration. The problem totally resolved, and no more subtle wiper movement to try to recalibrate in various stage of driving.

See repair note attached.

mine used to do this, but I think they fixed it with a calibration in an early firmware update

Does anyone know if this wiper calibration available in the service menu?

Likely be a service center service item. It is a less known issue, but the SC should get you a new motor and wiper assembly if you bring it in. You may enjoy a loaner for a few days. 😉

No, there isn’t. If you lookup how to replace the wiper motor in the service manual, it’ll give you an idea of what they may have not done or did wrong.

It’s a SC appointment, unfortunately.
