I got a quote of $69,400 from Tesla on a trade in value for an early build 2024 Dual Motor Foundation series with 33k miles. When asked about whether they take into consideration my PPF wrap which I paid $6k for… the Tesla rep said and I quote: “ That would be considered an aftermarket part which lowers your trade value.”

What do you guys think of this trade in value? I am thinking of getting a 2026 version which includes those subtle upgrades I read about.

My two cents: I have a tracker for mine running (24’ non foundation awd with 14k miles) and you’re sitting fairly well for value (mine dropped 2k from 2 weeks ago to similar value). You’ll lose lifetime fsd and sc but I hear the difference with fit/finish vs FS is night and day difference. It would boil down to if you use fsd and supercharge to make a informed decision.

Yeah, thanks! My FSD usage is around 82% so that’s def important. I have a very early build… 05XXX so I didn’t get free supercharging… I think I need to go test drive one to see that difference for myself. Losing lifetime FSD and I assume lifetime premium connectivity is a big deal.

ah shucks, yeah chalk it up to assuming (maybe) that fsd monthly stays current cost it’s worth 6k over 5 years and premium connectivity 500 over 5 years (annual lump pay).

You’d gain warranty coverage (now 70k miles from what I understand too) plus better build and a quieter ride overall. I also have heard but haven’t confirmed that air suspension noise and compressor noise is near 0. Looking to test drive a new build myself sometime soon. Best of luck!

Oh wow, you were a really early VIN huh?
Well as previously mentioned, you would lose lifetime premium connectivity and FSD. Given it's been only 2-3 years and you're already looking to swap to a newer model, $99/year + 99/year x 2 = $396 - $594. Therefore you came no where close to taking advantage of the $20,000k premium / markup for FS model - except for early delivery.
With that said, if you did sell your FS CT for a Premium AWD (PAWD) then you'd be a perfect candidate for FSD monthly as you don't seem to hold on to your vehicle for a long time. If leasing is an option, perhaps look into this (especially if you have your own business).

lol yes. I think I was the 2nd or 3rd cybertruck in the Houston area… the truck was like an out of space alien to people… the attention was intense!

I really do wish people would experience it before being so quick to judge it. Mine is in the 40K VIN range - It's been hands down one of the best purchases of my life - no regrets here.

The Service center had just done my tonneau cover fix thanks to @mongo's recommendation of:
"Also reference SB-25-11-001
https://service.tesla.com/docs/Serv...over_for_Exposed_Water_Management_Channel.pdf "
The Vault is now as waterproof as it gets.

If I were you I would wait until tesla is desperate to sell more trucks. I had a fs awd and waited for the free sc on the beast and got it. The trade in value is right for the 33k I had 28k and got 75400. So it was well worth the wait to get the beast and free sc for life with premium service for life. Worst case you sell your truck now and wait to get another one when they offer free sc. they will do it again but usually happens at the end of quarters before they report earnings

Yes I agree completely! It drives great and I love it. I do have my complaints though none of them are deal breakers.

Yeah I was just thinking about that… they do always get a little desperate at the end of a quarter.

What are your complaints? Perhaps either myself or this forum can provide some insight and/or help.

My complaints are pretty minor, but still a bit annoying.

I use mine like a truck should be used. I have a farm, so I load stuff, go through mud pretty often, and tow with it.

Some of the little things that bug me are stuff like the plastic inside the wheel well getting easily damaged from mud and stones. Another is the rear bumper design. When I use a hitch, especially one with a drop, you can’t really flip it up because the top part of the bumper sticks out farther than the bottom.

Nothing major, just small design details like that that make it feel a little less rugged than a truck probably should.

Not sure what you mean about the wheel and plastic - do you mean the wheel well or the actual wheels?
As for dropped hitch, Amazon sells hitch extenders which you could use - though I'm not sure how it'll impact towing.

Yeah the wheel well plastic liner. Hitch extender is a good idea. Thanks. I’ll check that out.
