I did scan the forum to see if instructions already existed, but I didn't find a video out there. Since I'm about at the 2 year mark - which is the recommended replacement interval BTW - I figured I'd DIY, record a video and see how it goes.

if you don't want to watch, Tesla has written instructions on their web site. If you're coming up on two years, I'd order the filter in advance since they are often out of stock. I ordered mine six months ago and have had it sitting (sealed in its plastic bag) in my garage. As I hit 1% service life on my filter, I figured it was time.

The only tool you might need is a pry/trim removal tool. You can use a wide flathead screwdriver, but I'd wrap the tip in Gorilla tape or something similar so you don't scratch your frunk trim.a

Thanks for the video. I also have a spare HEPA filter that I bought to use the funds from the voucher before they expired.
Why is the Cybertruck replacement interval two years, while other Teslas are three years? And where do you see that you are at “1%” service life?

edit: after watching your video I see now where the service life is reported. Thanks.

In the mobile app click on Service --> Resources tab --> Maintenance

As for why Cybertruck is a two year replacement vs. three for Tesla's passenger vehicles, I'm not sure. My best guess is the cabin volume of Cybertruck is quite large and trucks do truck stuff so may be more likely than a Model Y to encounter dust, dirt and similar particulates with light trails and occasional off-roading vs. a Model 3 or Y that may never leave pavement.

The cynical side of me says it's a way to drop the TCO marginally over a five year window as the passenger vehicles would need just one filter replacement vs two for Cybertruck - but most Cybertruck owners dropped $100-120K so probably don't consider the $100 every two years instead of every three years a major consideration in their purchase or ownership calculus.

There are a couple of options on Amazon. One has active carbon for $80 and another that's basically a direct replacement for $45.

For the SAWD model that doesn’t get a HEPA filter, would it be possible to just swap in one of these HEPA filters and get the same filtration performance? I highly doubt they would make a different enclosure for that non-HEPA filter?

I saw a post that the Standard AWD has a different blower motor and enclosure so no, you wouldn't get HEPA filtration in that case. You may want to check the parts diagrams which is what I believe the other individual did, sorry I don't remember the thread where it popped up on here.

Shipping included, not free
Don't be ridiculous. Shipping is never "free", there is always a cost associated with moving items across the country to your doorstep, but we call it "free" when you don't get charged above the purchase price.

In fact, if you purchase the air filter from your local service center and pick it up yourself, it's still the same price.

If you go out for coffee with a friend and he tells you he likes Karen's Cafe because they have "free refills", do you make it a point to put a damper on his idea by reminding him that those refills aren't really "free"? Of course not!

WTF? I said the cost for shipping is included in the price. I didn't say it was free. I responded to the person that said it was free. Limes2 said, "And that includes free shipping from Tesla."

Everyone on this thread already knows that "free" shipping means it's included in the price. There is no need to point out the obvious. No one was misled.

I see you are in Michigan. When you order an air filter from Ford or GM, delivered to your doorstep, is there free shipping (or is that a charge in addition to the advertised price)? When I drove gas vehicles, I always drove to the dealership to pick up the parts. There was no free shipping.
