This will be our 3rd Tesla and a VIN was always attached when we received pre-delivery tasks. Very strange how this has changed.

Ordered 2/20 7am PST, SoCal area.

I agree. Pre delivery task always included the VIN for me as well. Maybe they are trying to gauge how many of the reservation holders are serious buyers.

With 2/27 orders now receiving pre-delivery tasks I have a strong suspicion something glitched in the automatic computer system. Not having a VIN attached is a big red flag.

With all of the editing and entry in the tracker this morning I failed to check mine. Pre-delivery now unlocked for me also!

It may be a glitch, but please let me enjoy this moment that something has changed!

My delivery window updated this morning in Tesla Assist. AI was stating 2027 for the past 3 weeks.

it is interesting, on the morning after my reservation was placed, I received a call from Tesla congratulating me on the purchase. They asked me to open my app and begin the delivery items - I told them the reservation was blank, only pointing to my documents, no tasks. They said that was strange. So maybe something was fixed to actually get the tasks put in for everyone - considering the fact that others on here are due for pickup this weekend and hadn't had tasks available, maybe that pushed them to finally fix it.

We joke, but this may not be a bad strategy for Tesla. Build and deliver based on current anticipation from the owners. Why build, assingn a VIN, deliver, then have it sit on a lot for extra weeks/months or people back out of the deal? We've seen a few here already do that.

VINs may be assigned next. Let's see what the next few days bring.
