That was just too big of an ask for my brain to rewire decades of muscle memory. I got it wrong 100% of the time especially in potentially dangerous situations. Palm on center, then remember oh fucking hell I’m in this car and I gotta push this stupid little non-button. ?

People here drive horribly and I’m always needing to use my horn to stop somebody from sideswiping me. I remember at the time people making excuses and talking about how they almost never use their horn. No idea where those people live but that’s absurd and this was a very bad idea which I know what they were going for but this isn’t an Italian sports car, no Tesla is!

The horn is already on the steering wheel! You’re not eliminating any additional hardware, you’re just making it harder to do something that’s really important! I’m glad they turned back from that nonsense.
Completely agree. I’ve gotten used to the turn signal buttons. But that horn button my wife has on her model S is so poorly thought out and unnatural. I’ve often slammed on the center, realizing it does nothing, then have to physically search for the area of the “button” which you cannot feel with fingers and then inevitably look down, making a dangerous situation even worse. That process often takes multiple seconds (maybe 5) and seconds count in those situations

Can anyone who has the new horn post a picture of the under part of their front bumper? Do you have a speaker hole on both sides of the car or only the passenger side

It would be one thing if is was limited to Tesla, but it isn't. I've driven lots of rentals and the horn is one of my mental checklist of items to figure out when I get in the car.

Where is the gas filler?
In rentals, it's often very important to figure where the key is!
Where does the key go?
Where are the windshield wiper?
How do you turn on the radio?
Where is the horn?

There are so many companies that just have to do it better / different than their competition, the consumer loses!

Fun fact, there's an arrow on the old-fashioned fuel gauge that indicates which side has the fuel filler. Now you know

Yes, learned maybe 500+ weekly rentals ago. But I have to look at it to familiarize myself with the vehicle.

Yes, 500+ is indeed the number of rentals that I've had.

Years ago I traveled for a living.

I knew it was time for a career change when I walked up to the bar in O'Hare and the bartender said "So...the usual?"

Promising. Really hope to get this update. Took delivery early September and looks like I just missed the changeover.
