If a 300 mile battery actually got 300 miles I'd agree with you , Following best practices you are only going to have it charged to 80% and will want to charge it again as it approachs 20%. So thats 180 miles of range. Now tow something and your looking at 110. With a 500 mile battery...

At worst I could see them releasing a 425-450 mile version since the 4680's are still not at the expected density so a full pack yielding up to 15% less range would not surprise me. But releasing a performance CT with no difference other then a motor would be a hard no for me.

The tri motor on the Plaid only adds 200 pounds and I suspec the battery will weigh about 500 pounds more ( if it is a 350 vs 500) so 700 pound minimum between the trims. ( unknown if 4 wheel steering is standard on both or not) but the possibliity for the 500 mile version is still there.
