You know, I actually did consider this when I first got the truck before we had FSD just because I hated the BAW so much. It's a big ugly wart on an otherwise beautiful machine. But quickly dropped the idea for safety. Even though I think it would be fine most of the time, there are times...
This does not work reliably for me. It will switch back to AUTO after some time automatically. After a while I get annoyed and just drop out of FSD. Trust me, I would not be going through all this trouble if simply turning it off worked.
I am not sure. It does expect a message back from the wiper. Whether it is just an acknowledge of the message received or if it waits to complete the wipe before indicating success I do not know at this point. Once I start sniffing the LIN I should be able to figure all that out. I am...
I doubt they will. They won't even let us set the max speed. They need to fix whatever algorithm they use to determine the windshield needs wiping. It seems either it isn't high priority or they are unable to. My camera feed looks crystal clear and it keeps putting me back into auto -...
TLDR: Works but requires a system reset to get wipers working again :(
Thought I would share an experiment I tried to eliminate "dry wipes" that almost worked.
The Idea was to use a 48V relay with the coil connected to the frunk power feed and the NC (Normally Closed) terminals as a breaker to...
I would also make a further comment. Whether due to poor layer adhesion or a surge of adrenalin, if someone *was* to break the lever, the pull loop is still there, clearly identified. So they would just grab it and pull. Still a big improvement over the OEM hidden loop.
This is been an...
Humidity looks pretty good. Find something small to test with and try increasing the nozzle temp +10 to +15C. That should help. If not try slowing it down. I am not familiar with Bambu, but Prusa provides a couple profiles: stay away from the speed profiles - those are great for quick...
A couple more suggestions. @That Beast Mode is quite correct that layer separation is a weakness of 3d prints. I have found, though, that good dry PETG filament with the nozzle temperature set on the high side helps a lot to get a good attachment. That plus printing in an enclosure has...
My son kept getting rabbits nesting in his car (coincidentally, a VW Rabbit). We finally ended up shoving balls of wadded up chicken wire in the spaces they liked to nest in to stop it.
I probably spent about 8 hours total to do two doors. Getting that first top trim piece off without breaking it is really difficult. The air bag is a critical tool IMO of the process (could stuff it down near the pegs and apply pressure locally) but I ended up also using a half dozen different...
It does! I only did the front two because that's where I heard the bass distortion and vibration. Now that those are fixed, I can hear it coming from the back. Sound aside, it just makes the truck feel more solid. So glad I did it and am definitely doing the rear doors now that I know first...
She does now. She really didn't like it at first and tried to discourage me from buying it. However, she has warmed up to it and even sings its praises to her friends. Comments on the comfort, utility, and she even thinks FSD is cool (which is surprising because she won't even use cruise...
