They typically do it when they sell it at auction to a dealer, but they do it as they please. It depends on the market. There was a stretch 2 years ago where all used cars sold by Tesla had FSD, then after the quarter they were all gone.
They could keep all FS with FSD, but at some point they...

There are more recent ones, but I'll find and post them later.
It's not stupid to want. Polling shows most would prefer a gas generator on an EV to help on rare occasions. That's why Ford, Dodge, Scout, and soon Chevy will offer this.
Many on here want a pure EV and that's fine, too, but as Elon said about EREVs, it's a different approach.
I think you are misinterpreting my posts as saying you're wrong for wanting it. I'm simply saying it doesn't and won't work on a Tesla without hacking the system and that creates it's own list of issues.
Edit: If Tesla offered this would I buy it? Yes.
Will they? No. They are pretty clear...
It's fine to want this to work.
I said it's a bad idea because Tesla does not and likely will never allow it.
It's like me saying I want my Cybertruck to fly...that's fine, but if I post a plan to make it fly...people will likely call it dumb...and when something goes wrong, Tesla will not...
I don't have feelings that Tesla should or shouldn't. I know they don't and they likely will not in the future. Elon has said it's a "silly" idea when asked about it.
I'm saying it's a bad idea for CT owners because Tesla will not allow it and know the history of how Tesla handles people...
Because Tesla doesn't allow it.
The only way for that to work is to hack the system. Tesla blocks charging while driving. There was a Youtuber who hacked the software/hardware to work, but again, you then have a high chance that any battery issues or charging issues will not be covered and...
You think hacking your Tesla, voiding some potential warranty issues with charging and adding a motor is a great long term solution?
If this is what you want get a EREV like the Ram, new Ford, or Scout, but it's not a good solution for the Cybertruck.
I would be leery to tow with FSD.
It's not designed to work with towing and may not take into account the trailer when changing lanes or turning. Of course it's supervised, so you are responsible to watch that.
Someone complained that FSD wrecked their bike with a bike rack on the back of...
1. There was supposed to be software update that pops open all doors in a serious accident. That's the solution. If someone is disabled, they have to come in through the windshield.
