As stated above batteries are the big question. Can Tesla production keep up. With the Model Y about to explode onto the scene and the potential demand for it, Tesla will be busy for quite some time before they look at the CT production. We will learn more at the battery day.
I have been thinking of an angled spare tire holder that follows the angle of the bed cover. It could hold the tire up off the bed floor so I could still put material under it. Something like these.
At 615mph I want a computer handling the steering. I am quick but not that quick.
I want FSD for everyone just to know something is driving the other vehicles. Right now I am not sure the brain is engaged in the other vehicle with there music cranked, cell phone in hand, eating a burger and...
I am not a fan of the idea either. I prefer the look of the CT with the metal sail pillar. My guess is 2 of the 40 people planned to buy the CT and 38 would not buy an “ugly” vehicle. I did like relocating the charge flap from directly behind the rear tire.
Air suspension is your automatic jack. Drop air back in raise air just close the hitch, plug in wires and do something with the jack. Do the reverse to unhook the trailer.
You are right that salt will corrode stainless steel. It is a longer time to corrode the metal. A lot longer than the steel used in an ICE vehicle. You should be able to use an undercarriage washer to handle the salt in the spring or raise it to 16 inches in the car wash and spray it down.
Vertically integrated is the best way to go for Tesla. Tesla can develop better battery technology and put it into the next vehicle produced. Another manufacturer needs to go through the contract process and pay more for incremental improvements that Tesla can just adopt.
The lowest ground clearance is 8 inches. Add the battery height of (best guess) 6 inches and then a seat height of 10-14 inches. Again it is a guess of it being 14” to the floor height and 24-28” to the seat height. There are not actual measurements yet. Keep watching for the Jay Leno’s Garage...
When you fail to act and find yourself failing behind blame the front runner for your failure. Daimler could have bought Grohmann, Daimler could have started developing batteries and bought other companies but they didn’t. Relying on contracts to give you better when you will pay for what they...
Here is a different rendering of the CT with a glass panel behind the C pillar. The person said 38 of the 40 people he showed prefer it. What are your thoughts?
