CT 13.2 dings me at least every 5 minutes, sometimes more. Model 3 FSD dinged me once or twice when I started using it, but has been extremely calm since then. Many of the warnings with the CT have to do with driving out of the lane, wiper annoyances, weird lane changes, tailgating, and other...
My CT drives about 8" off-center to the right most of the time. It never drives in the center. It runs off the road to the right several times each trip, driving over the rumble strips, and even onto the shoulder rarely, usually at highway speeds. It also drives over the center line sometimes...
For me, FSD is so unsafe that it should not be used for continuous driving. I would like to use it momentarily if I have to look at the screen for something (find a charge station, for instance) in order to not run off the road, but then the nag alert kicks in, defeating the purpose of the FSD...
Just finished a 1,000 mile drive to Oregon from Reno. Lots of snow and rain, and an opportunity to understand the wiper intelligence. My conclusion is that the auto-wipe setting on FSD can be pretty decent when it rains. It only cares what the camera sees, and not what the passenger sees, and...
Stand in front of the vehicle to hear the horn. It is very loud. The sound is dampened when heard from inside the vehicle.
Everyone around you hears it quite clearly. They may be startled by an air horn since they are looking at cars. The solution is for us to all use our horns more to train...
Welcome Nevada'ns. I am a year late here, but hopefully you have your trucks now also. I think we have one of the bigger holes in charger coverage for the whole USA, but that is about the same for our mobile phone network. Rumors of the Ely station running, but I can not confirm this yet. If...
I drive to our local Tesla Dealer and just walk up to the service desk when I need help. So far that has worked for me. They keep a human there, and Tesla seems to have preference for the younger-friendly type.
I have driven 11,100 miles for a total electrical cost of $1,117 which is $0.102 per mile. That is a blended cost of 25 cents per kw-hr pro-rated for actual usage; at home I pay 14 cents per kw-hr, and superchargers are about 42 cents per kw-hr.
My Ford F150 4 door 2022 (same size and weight as...
I just love grinding sand across my windshield and FSD provides that added benefit, over and over, forever. That is what my FSD provides. The screechy sounds emanating while the grains dig in is the best part. If you don't like it, you either have to remove the wiper blade, or not use FSD...
Much appreciated. Your angle calculation is one thing, but you also worked out the field of view quite efficiently. I will post up my version of this box as I get to it.
Hi. The idea of the penta-prism is brilliant. I would like to make one of these boxes out of fiberglass, with a snap-on feature rather than the bunji cord. Is there any chance you could post the actual dimensions in a diagram (end-on, in particular)? I realize it is either 300 millimeters or 12'...
I seriously believe it will move forward and become good. I just want to provide an opinion for how to make it better. Others seem to have identified the same issues; maybe this will change some priorities -- stay in the lane, let the human have better control of velocity, and put some common...
My 2 cents driving with the All Season tires in the snow: works just fine. I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains and recently crossed a high pass in a blizzard, for a two-hour drive in 6 inches snow, unplowed. Firstly, I was surprised that the chain-control cops let me through, without the...
Interesting observation on "super bright lights at night". This might be why my CT drove straight off the road and into a snowbank. I was only moving 15 mph and the road curved right, but the vehicle plowed straight ahead, just when the lights reflected back from the snow, and everything became...
After using the new horn for three weeks, I really like it. Originally, I was concerned it was more quiet, but it isn't. The sound is quite directional, forward, but remains somewhat muted when heard from inside the car. I like that. The sound itself is quite nice.
I know the roads, the current weather, and see it is a decent size trailer. What a fun trip. I imagine you are also burning some electricity by keeping the disco lights blazing and music blaring through all hours of the night. With your stats we can all plan our trips too, so thank you.
Dear Tesla, in the spirit of hoping there are meaningful improvements, I have some suggestions since FSD 13.2. Note that I very much like the FSD in my model 3.
1. Cybertruck still does not drive in the center of the lane. This causes safety complications, particularly when passing large...
If you only need the spray the window to drive from coffee shop to coffee shop, it might work. Maybe the Tesla engineers should drive at length in the snow sometime, and get a vision of what mud and snow on a windshield is like for the rest of us.
Trailer might be lighter than you think, since that is a single axle; likely 3,500 lbs or less.
How far did you drive, and how many kw/hr did you use? Youtube is not useful for me, since it never seems to load. I really do appreciate you documenting this and am interested in your stats.
