I think specifying the region would be helpful to the discussion. Itās probably not gonna be the same drive around in Baja versus a place like Matamoros Mexico or the Sonora area. Personally, I probably would think itās OK during daylight hours on toll roads if youāre not in a flashy vehicle...
Pretty big screw up for a typically reputable WSJ. Although I've recently noticed some subtle changes to the reporting style and more sensationalist articles peppered in. I wonder if there have been some major changes behind the scenes.
They could at least say they will begin garnishing wages from day one. How long does he have to pay back? He should also have to pay for diminished value, and fines for the states efforts to prosecute. Think of what the PD had to do to build enough evidence to complete across six different victims.
Did you have to pay it? I haven't seen it here yet, but I haven't owned this or my prior Lightining for longer than a year. Maybe it will get billed upon renewal later this year.
Sorry youāre having to deal with that, itās so annoying. Unfortunately, consumers have the power to do that, just sucks when one is on the receiving end.
What makes it worse in your scenario is that the CT is a part of your portfolio, so it shouldnāt matter. Are you supposed to decline...
Iād be so pissed. We pay about $75 in TX and it doesnāt matter what the vehicle is. I probably wouldnāt bother with an expensive vehicle if I lived in one of these places.
On the flip side, our property taxes are high in Texas. So that affects the house purchase decision. there was a time when...
Not everyone is getting the $10k, it's a misleading statement. The only ones getting $10k area located in (I say this as unpolitically as possible) liberal areas that currently hate Elon and CT. I say this because when I change my zip to San Francisco, I can get a Dual motor for about $72-73k...
Oof⦠sorry that happened to you. I had the same thing but on the passenger side in my first month of ownership with the Sierra EV. It took about 4 1/2 months to get this thing fixed properly. Iām curious to see how long it takes to get the Tesla up and running
Ok, I Grok'd it and I guess the answer makes sense. Legacy dealerships are independently owned. So each dealer has an incentive to sell everything to whoever. Tesla sales are centralized so they can control regional pricing. It's obvious to me that a CT would have much lower demand in San...
Interesting, not available in my zip code. I wonder if they're incorporating state EV incentives? Odd that they couldn't charge a delivery fee to ship it from wherever it is.
Edit: This sucks. I just verified that inventory varies by state. I plugged in San Fran zip code and lots of $72k...
I'm not seeing these $10k discounts. Before running into this thread I'd been checking inventory for fun. The least expensive trucks are demo units for $76,xxx. Negligible difference from buying a new CT w/ tax credit. Luckily I get the business tax credit. If I see them sell for $69k plus...
Mark doesn't appear to be a troll based on his past contributions. However, he's either got himself in a serious bind financially and blowing steam or he does have TDS. I only suggest the latter because his responses on this thread are exactly like my dad's and he's got it bad, to the point we...
Not sure where you'll have better luck, Austin or Houston. My Sierra is at Covert Collision which is one of the only EV certified repair shops in the city. However, I don't know if you'd have alternatives being in a Tesla. Either way, I hope you get a quick and speedy repair!
Having said that...
Great info, but I would never come close to those numbers in Texas. Lots of open roads and high speed limits. I also do a lot of cross city/country work related trips.
Yes, that's sort of what I'm getting at. However, what got my attention was that initially couldn't believe that used CT's were asking $79/80k until I realized the are FS models and being sold with FSD. Then I remembered the range bump. It starts to make a used CT a little more appealing.
Thanks for posting this, it's what I'm referring to.
@mongo see above.
@carsly - Definitely agree with not trusting EPA, but that's why I run my calculations. I usually deduct 15% for cold weather if the EV has a heat pump or 25% if it doesn't. Then I tend to drive mostly highway between...
This is messing with my head. I've been trying to run comparison calcs but it's not working for me because how did they get 20 extra miles with no changes to battery size? The FS just happens to be 6% more efficient? One model would be based on 2.76 EPA and the other 2.6 EPA.
Might just need...
