As I was checking out CT's and seeing these used FS CT's, it dawned on me that they advertised 20mi more range. Along with the included FSD and all, it would actually be a selling point over buying a new non-FS version.
I was curious if in real life there have been verified accounts of the FS...
When there's a good deal, take it. Perfect deals require a lot of luck because the deal has to line up with your timeline on other things such as being ready to take action, and they tend to be a blip in the timeline. Not to mention a "perfect" deal needs to be realistic.
IMO right now Tesla is...
Really good points. Especially, regarding longevity. Ford/GM/Tesla/etc. would have much better EV sales numbers if they could improve upon fast charging times. Unlike other amenities that they can slow roll to squeeze every last drop of profit from; fast charging is one lever that could use to...
Just watch the trade in values with these good deals. Local dealer is offering between $76-79k for my Sierra EV. Tesla offered $60k over the phone, sight unseen.. No way I'm taking that hit. I'm going to visit the Tesla dealer this weekend to chat and see what the deal is.
If there's anything that should be reassuring, it's how hard it has been for vandals to actually do damage to the CT. Plenty of other Tesla models getting key'd or whatever, but unless you have a wrap; it seems most attempts can either be wiped or buffed out. The widespread vandalism videos...
100%!
Compared to Tesla, I agree. The Lightning is advanced by legacy automaker standards. The GMC is good by ICE tech standards. Again, someone coming from an ICE will like it. Someone already in the EV world will probably find it lacking.
That's true. Kyle's Out of Spec trip to China was pretty eye opening as to what's out there and could one day be incorporated. Legacy automakers haven't been motivated enough to push forward though, and makes Tesla look revolutionary here in the states.
Not surprised at all. If you see my signature I had a brand new 2024 F150 hybrid between the Lightning and the Sierra EV. I was getting bad vibes from that truck. Would not surprise me at all if there's recalls on that product down the line.
I'm guilty of trying to have it all in one package and this thread is reminding me of nature's limitations, and why I reluctantly passed on the CT the first time.
I'm in full agreement of your experience. Even when moving on from the Lightning, my RST test drive was underwhelming as a person...
Thatās actually a valid point. Although I still find myself in places where I need range due to lack of infrastructure, if I can get a charge from 10%-90% in 10 minutes or less, that would be a game changer.
Aside from my unhealthy addiction to swapping cars:
Tech. The Ford Lightning had tech that was a step down from Tesla, but as my first EV I assumed all EVās from different manufacturers would have that level of advanced tech. GM was actually a step down, doesnāt even offer PAAK and basically...
As I lean towards swapping my Sierra EV for a CT, once again Iām confronting the reason I went with the Sierra in the first place, range. Do we have any updates?
Also, if you get a regular range CT and skip the $2k deposit, does that mean you cannot get the extender when it comes out, or just...
I forgot to mention. OP, my 100k msrp 2024 Sierra EV that I purchased in October got a $60k trade-in offer from Tesla for a CT. Iām sure I can do better elsewhere, but just saying depreciation on EVās, especially high trims are a B. And in my case nobody knows much about Mary Barraās politics...
Funny because my wife called me out on this just yesterday. Sheās noticed that my consideration of swapping out for Teslaās has turned into resolution to get a Tesla. Not that sheās pleased about it, but definitely aware of my shift and calling me out.
P.S. - Missed you were a lawyer by trade, probably didnāt appear because I was on my phone and the sidebar doesnāt appear. That changes the context of your response, and Iām the first to admit if Iām wrong on something. Brash away bro! ?
P.S.S. - Can handle the difficult conversations, but in...
What depreciation? All used CTās listed on Autotrader are about $79k at the lowest. Whatās going to hurt you the most is the EV tax credit unless you got it at purchase. I canāt believe thereās a used dual motor CT for more than $70k considering a brand new one is technically $73k.
Every...
