If you think they would sell one less Cybertruck because they didn’t have a reservation system I believe you’re mistaken. There would be a loss of goodwill but would that translate into reduced sales?
If you’re reservation holder 999,999 do you care if you’re on the list?
I’m deeply suspicious of anything that requires me to link my investment account to get a ticket to anything. Strikes me as extremely risky and foolish. Who is SAY anyway?
There is an assumption to the post that Tesla honors any of these “preproduction” reservations.
Have they ever had a reservation system like this before?
Maybe we’ll just have a bunch of $100 deposits back to our Tesla account.
If I were Elon I wouldn’t be worried about the fanboys cancelling their $100 investment in the Cybertruck. Reservations north of 1 million for a vehicle that after ramp will produce 250k a year is meaningless.
I didn’t understand the absurdly low pricing at the 2019 reveal. Have a look at...
Yes tooling is, more or less, fixed; that’s what I meant by amortizing development costs. Cost accountants take total development costs and divide it among projected units to be produced from those production lines.
The Eclipse story is perhaps more relevant than you think. Its manufacturing...
As for price point and profitability. It’s essential that the Cybertruck be priced not to lose money out if the gate (of course development costs have to be amortized over expected life) but.
I remember another Radical new concept Vehicle. The Eclispe jet, founded by Microsoft guru. Friction...
After reading Twitter commentary I decided to listed to the show. Very disappointing presentation. I understand he’s a genius and doesn’t believe in scripts but saying “we’ve dug our grave” is just unacceptable for a someone in his position.
Compared to earlier optimism he sounded depressed...
For the first time I’m questioning Tesla’s ability to service the vehicles they sell and wondering how they’re going to handle additional demand imposed by Cybertruck. My Model S died on the freeway a week ago, was towed to service center and they’re too backed up to look at it a week later.
If...
The real issue for the truck market is bed length. F250 long bed is 8.5 feet; that’s important for hauling Sheetrock and plywood
Shortest f250 bed is 5.5 feet.
cybertruck, as I understand will be one length at 6 ft.
that may be a problem if youre competing for the construction market.
That’s very true. Long term New Orleans residents we’ve experienced every form of criminal stupidly; all you can do is minimize, not eliminate risk.
So far, for 12 years the Model S has been safe behind the high fence. My son, who doesn’t have as high a fence doesn’t leave his car locked, so they can ricks through it without having to smash the glass. Teslas are at a disadvantage in that they can be left unlocked.
In New Orleans if you park a vehicle outside there is a high risk your windows will be broken and your vehicle looted by fine upstanding young men. Even armor glass will smash if hit hard enough.
I actually believe likely the Cybertruck will attract vandalism so being able to fit in my drive...
No question, from following topics posted on forum for years, that a lot of people on the forum are breathless fanboys. However many of us are looking forward to buying the vehicle.
