I agree agree and disagree. While MOST of the market for the current capabilities may have been reached, I really think that this feature (I am going to call it SOS: Summons on Steroids) could be a game changer. Obviously folks who buy a truck for looks or to shore up their masculinsecurity is...
Good to know. I just got mine done on Wednesday and was not impressed to find that they didn't even attempt to clean the surface of the windshield. It was pretty filthy with dirt collected in streaks from the rain off the wiper. They just glued it in place on top of all that crud. >:(
Agreed! No doubt, those are killer apps and would sell some trucks. None-the-less, I think dumb-summon (on steroids) could be done easily *now* if they chose to. And I agree with some of the other posts, not everyone needs it but I think there are plenty of folks out there who have been in...
There are a couple features - one in particular - that I think if Tesla added via OTA would have a noticeable impact on sales.
1) Dumb Summon with independent front/rear steering control. IMO, this is a killer app that would turn lots of potential buyers to CT. Can be used off road to...
I agree with the others. It works! Kinda wish I thought of it. I suppose because the truck does have a reputation to be a hazard to fingers, pedestrians, etc.
1) This is just a concept vehicle so (thankfully) will never go to production in its current form
2) Yuck. This is what you get when you let form drive function. Cybertruck looks weird because the form followed function (with one edict from Elon saying thou shalt use HFS on the exterior)...
These look sweet and reasonably priced. However, I noticed that the top pieces cover the aeroflap. This has to be removed during cybertent usage. Any chance of a version for tent equipped trucks? Maybe stop the roof cover at the edge of the aeroflap and add a SS panel to go across?
I agree their chances are slim but they got my $50. If they survive we are going to see some really creative builds. For $20K I'm a lot less concerned about voiding the warranty. Hopefully the optional touchscreen will be Open Source with well documented APIs.
Yeah. It definitely is dated but when I bought it in 2011 it cost less than half the cheapest Tesla. I don't think it gets enough credit for being the first affordable mass-produced EV. This will be it's third battery but this time the one I am putting in has almost twice the capacity so it...
It's a lack of understanding of what it is. They only see how it looks and assume people buy them just to get attention and flaunt their wealth. Why hate instead of just an eyeroll? I have my theories there but to state them would get this thread shut down.
Yes! The question isn't if the aluminum will fail - it's when. The issue isn't that it can fail it's how. A simple steel backup like you mention - or even a chain like you use from hitch to trailer would be sufficient in my book. The frame can be repaired. A life cannot. To me the ultimate...
Yes I do - was required on my prior truck (K2500 GM Suburban). And yeah, it really changes the dynamics. I've been on roads with my back two tires almost off the ground (truck+airstream resting on airstream tires and truck front tires). Not quite, but enough that the rear tires slipped on...
His point #3 - Long time fatigue - has been my #1 concern with the design since before it was released. The real world catastrophic scenario I see is very real (pulling an airstream over washboard for 1000's of miles over time). It is basically a 5000lb jackhammer on the hitch. It will...
Camera quality looks great. I, however, am waiting for a larger, wide aspect view in front of the driver. Put those cameras into a display like below and you will have my money instantly.
