    Tesla Insurance Premium Increase 21%

I chose Tesla insurance on my FSCT last March for $191.27/month. No accidents/tickets, long driving experience, Elite Driver Discount (whatever that is), and only 8,000 miles/year. In September, the monthly premium will go up to $231.13/month, or about 21%. As you can see, I live in...

    A couple of things I don’t like

The window switches are too far back on the door arm rest. Don’t like all the exterior plastic, sharp body metal edges, no proximity alarms, the rear view camera sucks as a rear view mirror. Seems like they could zoom in on the rear view mirror camera for a better view. Cars behind you look...

    PowerShare installed today

My first impression was your install looked really clean and well done! I think the dual conduit looks nice as well. Ok, I agree, the flex conduit doesn’t look the greatest. Who cares? It works, right? How many of your home circuits were backed up?

    Auto gear selection

I’m surprised all Teslas don’t have almost identical functionality. For example, the CT turn signals cancel after changing lanes, my M3 does not unless it is in FSD. It is minor, but I love the auto cancel on the CT.

    Charging Rate is SLOW :(

The ICE comparison is filling a 10 gallon tank vs filling a 36 gallon tank; it takes longer!. Now we all understand it. No worries. This electricity stuff is pretty tricky.

Warped tailgate issue after hauling load

I hope you are right about the CT tail gate.

Does anybody know how to hide AQI?

I like the AQI, but it doesn’t match the AQI as displayed on my phone. If you touch the CT screen AQI, it pops up a box of more weather info and shows the correct city I am located in. Nothing in the weather box shows where you can adjust anything. The CT was showing a yellow 52, when my...

Warped tailgate issue after hauling load

I had an 2010 F-150 with the steel bed. Yes, I took care of it, but I over-loded it a few times with gravel and wine grapes.. You are right, I didn’t over-load the tailgate. I never worried much about breaking my F-150. I do worry about breaking my CT and that is prolly why I said what I...

    2024.10.9 to 2024.26.6?

I have FSD on my 2018 M3 and didn't have this problem that I know of. But again, so what does it matter if I have to get a different OTA before getting FSD OTA? I would not spend two seconds worrying about an OTA update problem somehow blocking FSD. In addition, I don't expect FSD anytime...

Warped tailgate issue after hauling load

Hmm, I can't imagine an ICE truck tail gate bending like that. Maybe Tesla Tough isn't as strong as Ford Tough? Maybe they should have skipped the stainless-steel body and put a little more strength into the tail gate.

    2024.10.9 to 2024.26.6?

I think you are being overly cautious about OTA. I look forward to any software update because it hopefully makes my Tesla "better". Besides, you don't really have a choice, the next OTA update is the best OTA update.

Cybertruck Jump - Dukes of Hazzard Style

This is so cool! Good job. I have to say, back in the day, I took my '66 Mustang over a jump, got air, and boy did it slam down HARD and loud! I thought I for sure broke something. Nothing broke! I guess it was the beginning of "Ford Tough". The jump was like a flood dike on a paved road...

Does an EV really save you money? Cybertruck vs Ram Diesel Comparison

I boil it down to cost equivalent gas mileage. 40 MPG = $5 Cost of gas x 1,000 / 400 WHM / $0.32 per kWh for California. When people ask about Mr. CT, I usualy mention it gets the equivalent of about 40 MPG. Colorado might be 3.5 x 1,000 / 400 / 0.065 = 135 MPG. It is funny, some people want...

Ventilated seats still on HVAC mode off

I tried the seat cooling for the first time yesterday and found it awkward to turn off. The choices of Cool-Heat-Auto should include an “Off" as well. I found I could keep pressing the seat icon to change the intensity and eventually to off, was quite a distracting process. Pressing the seat...

    Updated Motor?

Pretty sure I read somewhere they are taking the old motors out of the FS to put them in the non-FS trucks. Giving the FS vehicles the better motor. Maybe I didn't really read that anywhere, but I want to believe it is true.... Then again, yeah, would be nice to know what is going on with the...

Craftsman Tire inflator (sale price for a short time)

I just got the Tesla air compressor with referral points and see that it comes with a 12v cigarette connector. I got pretty discussed immediately and stopped looking to see if by some chance it could be powered by a Tesla. I'm assuming there is no Tesla with a 12v cigarette plug. I'm thinking...

Front and rear guide lines are incorrect.

I've always thought curbs are only suggestions when driving a truck anyway....

Installing a 12 volt radar detector -- use 12 - 15 volt circuit behind the rear view mirror compartment.

I ordered the Tesla tire air compressor kit with my referral points thinking I could use it on my two Teslas. Turns out it has a standard 12v cigarette lighter adaptor for power. HUH? If I paid for it I would send it back. There may be a workaround, but as soon as I saw the cigarette...

What's the problem of charging your truck to 100% instead of 80% once in a while?

I've charged my 2018 M3 over 500 times and have 243 cycles on the battery over 6+ years. New, it had 310 miles range. Tesla software bumped it to 321 miles. Now when I charge it to 100%, I get 303 miles, or less than a 6% loss. I've heard the batteries should last 1,500 cycles. I've...
