Looks like it got into a bit of indecision and started left-right oscillating before you took over?
I had that happen entering a parking lot. The entry lane was at 45 degrees to the layout of the aisles, if you can picture that. The entry pointed us at a car parked at the end of an aisle. FSD...
Your earlier comment about key and drive being different requests might be part of the answer. I had assumed that they were essentially one and the same and therefore, it would have required the auth system to have a problem between unlocking and starting...which was a very small window of time...
Hmm, that's interesting. But it happened to me on Thursday last week (February 5th). And based on the service guys being completely stumped (both from the office in California and at the service center itself), I'm not so sure. You'd think they'd have been aware, especially after the previous...
My phone had just come off of the charger when I left the house and should have been close to 100%. It would have been lower as the day progressed, but certainly not below 40% or so. And as noted, the log out, log in trick seemed to solve the connectivity issue.
I have had issues over the...
I've experienced it in other vehicles over the years. The bigger the interior, the more obvious it is. The fact that it happens in one direction only is the biggest clue. Put someone in the passenger seat and see if they notice it when you turn left.
For there to be that much air entering...
This still has me scratching my head.
I was staying at a friend's 5 hours from home. Got up in the morning to get some things done, the first being a supercharger stop.
I walked up to the truck with my phone in my pocket. It let me in. I set the nav to the supercharger and the HVAC kicked...
It's just physics. Note that it's right turn only. Which way are you pushed in your seat? Towards the door, right? The same direction the heavier cold air goes. Cold pockets of air anywhere in the cab will end up on the left side of the truck. Once the corner is done, it'll fall to the...
I absolutely don't discount the political influence. Those people would love to have a captive audience, but that doesn't mean it should pass. Just mandating an AM radio in a vehicle won't cause people to listen to it. Heck, I haven't listened to AM since a local FM station started a rock...
AM radio is the first generation of radio technology. From a technical perspective, it's like the horse and buggy. Massive land requirements for the broadcast antenna. High power just to be heard outside of town. And at night, the ionosphere gets the signal bouncing so you hear multiple stations...
Roosevelt was talking about defending against tyranny and fascism. Actively seeking to expand the territory of an evil empire while killing and terrorizing women and children in their beds is not what he was talking about. Just in case that wasn't obvious. 🙄
You don't.
I think the only Tesla models that had it were the original S and X. My '15 S did. AM disappeared around 2017 I think. Noisy due to EV electrical systems.
If you can find an app for your phone to stream the stations, you might be able to Bluetooth it into the sound system.
The fact that he thinks this thing is worth building a video around does that before the video even starts. The Electric Viking channel has become a bit of a joke... this seals it. Built in a country that has an army actively using horses, mules and golf carts on the battlefield. 🙄
Exactly. It's not a problem until it is.
I can tell you I don't enjoy stopping on a two lane highway with windrows blocking most of the shoulder, to get out and clear the lights... hoping I'd left enough room for the semis to get by.
Hardly an existential threat when you're standing bent over...
I preferred my 2015 Model S (85D) over our '23 Y Dual Motor. Same Nokian winter tires. The wider stance, low center of gravity and what I perceive to be a larger polar moment of inertia, made the S really good on challenging surfaces. Possibly the best vehicle I've ever had in slippery...
Definitely better than the stock ATs. Definitely more rolling resistance. My experience, in the same temperature and driving conditions, is about 12-13%... which is higher than I wanted to see...but if they keep me on the road, I guess that's a reasonable cost.
What I've noticed is that it seems to want to follow the route you had in Nav, even if you 'end trip'. If no trip was entered for the drive, it seems to randomly choose left or right at Tee intersections if you don't specify. I haven't seen any logic behind the choices.
And if you try to have...
Sorry, I'm laughing. Not at you... rather, at the fact that it was just over a year ago when I posted about how dangerous that DRL is in heavy snow on a dark night. I got a lot of abuse for it, essentially suggesting I don't know how to drive in the snow... LOL. But as you found out, the...
