Ok, thanks. I'll poke around. I've always had "lower" set as a preference and it still is. And I cleared the location settings memory just in case.
Maybe a reboot is in order too...
I will check that. I didn't realize that they'd added a seperate mode for FSD.
When FSD switches off, should my regular mode become active? I'm seeing medium height when I'm sitting in my driveway or a destination after FSD is cancelled... 🤔
I've noticed since the update that the truck wants to drive around in medium height rather than low as it used to before. I've checked the settings and my preference is for low.
However, it has been very snowy and foggy around here recently, so I don't know if FSD has decided medium makes more...
I haven't been able to determine if it's Sentry, but my sense of things is that consumption HAS increased since the update.
I'm also seeing it want to drive in medium height for some reason...
I'll have to check to be sure, but I recall the S meter (on 2 m) being up a bit. Squelch typically wouldn't break though. That was if the power outlets were activated, regardless of whether they were connected to a load. I could cause the noise by simply toggling the switch on the screen that...
How are you getting power? I found that turning on the AC outlets triggered noise that was audible on weaker 2 m FM signals. If the incoming signal is full quieting, you don't notice it... but anything less and the noise becomes quite problematic.
I scanned around with my TinySA and saw...
Is it bad that I wondered where this one was when the first set were posted???
The glow in the dark solution is definitely a good idea... and frankly should be provided from the factory.
There's really no way to state the problem without triggering a "that's what she said" joke...
That would make sense, except I think that download would be the geolocated road linework, not a satellite map. I recall that the map updates were noted separately in my old Model S, so it's unlikely there was much new information being overlaid back then.
So it isn't 'learning', but rather...
I'm not sure how much ability it has beyond finding the driveway. I park in the right bay (two doors, not one big wide door). The truck steers into the driveway, hugging what would be the center of the concrete with the driver's side. It sees my wheely bins sitting between the garage doors...
I agree that local learning shouldn't be possible, but I'm at a loss to explain how behavior at the same locations in the same traffic conditions improved. And how it was only bad on the first drive, not randomly bad on other drives.
Perhaps it's tied to 'map updates'? I wonder if the truck...
I beg to differ on the need to repeat. Where I am, calcium chloride is used to keep the dust down. The result is splatter on the truck that is very hygroscopic. That means any iron that hits the truck flash rusts. Not treating those spots can result in pitting of the stainless. So when I...
Since the latest version was installed, I've noticed two strange behaviors, or indecisive behaviors, that only occurred once. The next time I went through the same areas, the indecisiveness was gone. So perhaps there is some local learning going on?
In one case it hesitated deciding what lane...

I wrote about the sketchiest drive I've ever had in any vehicle, here, almost a year ago. (Edit: not here but in a Cybertruck Facebook group. Post was stolen by TorqueNews to make a hit piece...) I was pretty much seething by the time I got home because the danger was unnecessary. Such an...
