It's my only home internet in North San Diego County.
It was ridiculously easy to set up and I see 200-320 speeds. I purchased/installed July 2025.
Video calls, streaming, etc all work great.
Man, and you're one of the OG FSCT owners!!
I know fire can do funny things to metal colors, but is that aluminum wire feeding the j-box and copper to the wall connector?
OP, get your PPF from Twraps and watch their video.
I did mine myself and the results were awesome. And Twraps customer support is the best.
Here's my thread on it: Twraps Matte Mysterious Green Self-Install Wrap Done | Tesla Cybertruck Forum - Cybertruck Owners Club
Thanks for posting this. I cancelled my charger swap after reading the negative feedback here.
I ordered this cover to give it a try. $4.49: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCGPXB5B
I cancelled my swap based on the poor feedback in this thread.
I’ll wait and see if the iPhone 17 Air (or whatever the new thin one will be called) charges any better, haha!!
I’ve been driving with my iPhone 16 Pro Max facedown on the charger for over a year, basically using it as holder, since it would toast my phone otherwise. Really hoping this works, haha!!
Update:
- Tesla Service messaged me saying there was nothing that could be done about the overheating issue and they closed the ticket
- I messaged back, mentioned that I’d heard there was a substantially revised part that addressed the overheating issue
- They messaged back, acknowledged there...
I’m assuming the ‘early’ builds had the non-heatsink version. Seeing that they’re on Gen 5, it’s apparent that Tesla knew this was an issue and has been working on a fix.
I just submitted a service request and have a Mobile Service appointment for 06/27. Will report back any information.
ETA: The EPC lists the charger part as up to Gen 5 now.
