I was headed to Tesla for some recall items to be taken care of and I hit some idiot’s little plastic ladder on the highway. Well.. FSD hit it… my dumb brain thought it would swerve around it… and of course it didn’t. My fault for assuming it would… I need to remember that.

In any case, I got to Tesla and see my rear fairing was busted. Timing couldn’t have been better. They said I would be charged $15 for the part, but with labor it’s $55. I generally fix my own vehicles so I said “just the part”. Then I got in the waiting room and googled how to fix it. I saw I had to remove the rocker, etc. I got up and went back to the service tech and said “you guys do it… it’s too cheap and it’s insurance in case I snap something off.” 🤣

I think that's smart. I bought 2 to do it myself and when I pulled off my wheel trim I broke one of the clips. And apparently Tesla doesn't sell just those clips.

My SC replaced one of mine for just the cost of the part. But I'd pay to have them do it @ $55.

they are a huge pain in the rear to remove and re-add; definitely a design blunder here for an off-road capable vehicle.

I just wish the terrestrial Armor came with foundation series. It doesn't have any on it.

I've off/oned twice. Didn't find it difficult. Keys are power driver (for speed) and leaving the front bolt installed.
