Was really hoping for more, at this point this is "minor fixes" not a giant leap forward.
Wake me up when I can take a nap in my truck on a road trip already (safely)
Keep in mind that most people have 10-20x the lifetime mileage in an ICE vehicle, avg population age of drivers, time EVs have been available.
I am sure some kid who is 18 will cry "I have more EV miles than ICE miles"
But for those of us over 30 statistically there are going to be a ton more...
Yea FSD isn't there for tight garage parking, plenty of brunched mirrors and fenders on the forums showing that.
Parking bumper at least lets you dial in exactly where to stop
Not looking to start anything or give CT owners a bad time, but when I drive by the gas station with guzaline at $4.56 a gallon and I know they can't see me through my tinted windows..........
I mean FSD is nice on the highway, but at this point it feels like a really good cruise control.
I bought it for this, and based on the promise it would be here "soon" hopefully they can really pick up the pace.
Yea seriously concerned when I saw that this was posted in the early hours of April 1st......
But typically Elon would come up with something more dramatic than this.
Yea, I am sure people with 50k+ X followers will get it first....just hoping it isn't months before it lands in the CT and hope it is truly a significant improvement. FSD is great, but not the self driving robot car it was supposed to be..yet
This will hopefully be another big leap forward for FSD and with any luck the CT won't have to wait 4 months to get it.
Elon has 14.3 as
"the last big piece of the puzzle"
As a long term Tesla investor and multiple vehicle FSD I hope this is a meaningful bump as I am ready to take a nap while...
Haha didn't see that tool in the Tesla shop
I did look into what it would take to put in a midgate, but there is a BUNCH of casting, not to mention cover function etc.
Sentry mode in the CT might be code for Elon's remote mining machine, think you might be onto something.
Sentry mode in the MY eats 1-2% a day,CT with WAY bigger battery chugs electrons
The only real fixes the truck needs are longer range, and a mid-gate. Both of which are not happening, so like Griswold said waiting is only denying yourself a great vehicle.
At this point it is pretty straightforward.
Tesla delivers the Cybercab and FULL Self Driving in the next 12-24 months, you can jump in your truck and take a nap or send it to pick your kids up from soccer.
Or they don't and people who have been following FSD progression for 10+ years will...
I would pray your PCS fails now instead of 1,100 miles from now. That is the big one
Double check you have the additional tonnuea slat so your vault is dry
The problem is the vampaire battery drain, you are going to lose 3-10% battery per day with the truck just sitting there, driving some on top of that the 110v is not going to be enough to keep up if you decide to go somewhere on the weekend etc.
