I'm like you. I took my 2017 Ram 2500 and while it was still new installed a complete off-road suspension myself, put on different wheels and tires. This made the truck look the way I wanted and made the ride tailored to my needs. New springs, king shocks, etc. to make the truck still be...
I have a 3/4 ton truck with 35 x 12 tires r18 wheels...I'm fairly certain that is the same size as the CT prototype shown. On my truck, the tires protect the wheels from curb rash and other damage because they bulge out further than the wheels. In a truck this size it is inevitable that you...
The one thing I do like about the Hummer EV that the CT doesn't have is the 4 wheel steering. I don't care about crab walk, but 4 wheel steering could really improve driving dynamics and trailering. It's not a deal breaker if it doesn't come with it, but it would be a nice to have.
If the Hummer EV Edition 1 were more in the $70k to $80k price range, it would be a decent competitor to the CT. The big drawback I see is that it has such limited range in comparison to the CT. 150+ miles difference in range is huge.
The CT had the windows partly rolled down during the Jay Leno episode. If you watch the videos it's clear they were about 20% open.
I'd be fine with side cameras because the it would be more aero efficient and produce less wind noise.
There have been several theories on how the wipers may...
Those videos peaked my interest a little bit with the quadrasteer impact on towing stability and decreasing the turn radius for maneuverability. If you could keep a good amount of vertical travel and have ruggedness for more high speed style offroad, then it would be a welcome addition to a...

My wish has come true. If polaris puts in powertrains from zero in their UTV's, it looks like I'll have to sell my 2017 Ranger 1000xp Crew in a couple years. Then I could partner up a CT with a rEV'd up...
OK. I misread your intent on that post. I'd fully welcome any modern power supply and drivetrain in the form factor of a 6 seater UTV. I'd prefer it be in a polaris as they are the most versatile and accessorized UTV on the planet. If zero wants to make an electrified Polaris Ranger or Can...
Polaris isn't using zero right now. They have lead acid batteries that aren't even maintenance free. You have to top off the water in the batteries. That is what I was referring to as 20 year old tech.
If someone could build a side x side utv similar to a 6 seater polaris ranger but using battery and tech from tesla, I'd buy it. I love my gas powered polaris ranger, but it would be even better if it electrified with tech that isn't 20 years old like the current electric polaris ranger...
I guess I'm misreading that slide from the presentation, but I thought it was 40% from the upcoming battery tech they are producing right now at the pilot plant, plus another 14% range that will happen as a result of how they plan to integrate the pack as a structural member on new vehicle...
Even if the battery packs weren't in the current cars, my understanding is that the battery packs are easily swapped at a service center. That means if there is a noticeable Osborne effect, Tesla could conceivably offer some type of "swap out my battery pack" program on current in-stock...
The cybertruck is not massive for all of us that have 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks and want to replace with the cybertruck. If anything, it is a downsizing for us. I know the CT is smaller than my current Ram 2500 megacab diesel. A lot of the tight turning radius things we do offroad could be well...
I'm eagerly anticipating what this might mean. If it is something like 20% to 40% increase in energy density, then range just increased significantly while reducing weight. I can't wait until next Tuesday.
If you are getting the trimotor then the rear wheels each have A motor and the front it’s own motor on a limited slip differential but being a truck with high end off-road aspirations, I anticipate ability to go full lock when needed up front.
I think most people just want the capability and be done with it. Rarely does anyone use the 500 mile range in a gas tank. Day to day, I don't need all 30 gallons in my diesel 3/4 ton truck, but when I go on long trips several times a year where I may or may not be towing, I sure enjoy not...
The way I see it, this could work if you install multiple at a site, and there is a real time connection or app that tells potential customers the amount of charge available before they arrive. If you had say, 8 of these at a station, I bet there would be plenty of juice for the run-rate they'd...
The range thing is a huge deal for those of us that travel long distance. I do an annual hunting trip...it is 615 miles from house to hotel. We currently do that distance in one day in my truck. We drive it in the winter and are driving fast and there is elevation change. The number of super...
