i put mine in entry and jack mode, it stayed at that height and was easy to get the wheels off. Also I believe the factory tires are directional, so you can’t do a cross pattern for rotating. (But I could be wrong)
It’s not defective. You can remove it and clean it and replace it. I removed mine and cut off all the exterior “fins” to make it less grippy(so I pull out styrofoam cups without them breaking) just tough to get back in. Realign.

My solution uses a camera with an FOV of about 120 degrees. It works pretty well, Its only 1080p, so I can't read licenses plates once cares get to far away, but it looks much more like a regular rearview mirror.
Got it working, apparently SC unhooked the harness in the B pillar when they installed the light bar.
Also I don’t have to be in off road mode to turn it on.
