I also only recently heard about this issue and thought I was lucky as well.... Then mine went from 24/24A to 0 in like 3 days, and I feared the 48v would give out, which would cause an emergency shut down. Tell service you're afraid it will shut down and that it's a safety critical concern and...
You may be in luck...
I'm so relieved: They scheduled me with a new svc center (SC), who apparently had the parts, but wasn't sure about my 66k coverage yesterday.
Today I spoke with my regular SC, & the ticket had been updated to good will, & there's a bulletin, & since it's "safety" I'm in...

I just noticed I was charging at 24/24A instead of 48/48A today. Service Mode shows PCS2_a127 but no user facing notifications. My Foundation Beast is at 66k miles so will be insisting...
Mine has moisture and has stopped working. After I noticed and tried to turn it on it prompted me to uninstall it, which I declined. A few days later it would intermittently turn on while the power feed was enabled and then turn back off and prompts for uninstallation again.
I'm thinking of...
I've been using this "L14-30P to L14-30R + 5-20R x 4 Receptacle Power Cable for 7500W Generators, 10 Feet, 30A, 125/250V - Iron Box # IBX-11858 (10 ft)" since I had my F-150 Lightning. Still carry it now with my CyberTruck and use it with a NEMA 14-50 to L14-30S adapter. It lets you tap the...
Your right, the variable load dawned on me half way through, but I was committed to seeing if grok could give me reasonably answers for the unreasonable question.
Appreciate the firm warning, I was going to affix the resistors to the headlamps... JK ;)
That DC-DC Step down seems sort of bulky, so I'm exploring a different method of just using a resistor in series: Assuming the StarLink Mini maximum power draw is 60 watts then at 48 volts that would be 1.25 amps or at the minimum of 12v that would be 5 amps.
Asked Grok: "If I have a 58vdc...
I made the cut once when my buddy in his Lightning beat me in a friendly drag race on the sand dunes some months ago... We knew he would, cause I didn't want to air down enough to risk breaking the bead and needed to drive home that evening... Not that anyone really cared, but got lots of...
They love this stuff over here:
And apparently did not read the first reply, with a video showing how they are meant to be installed so they can always very easily be aligned... I'd be sure to talk to that techs boss...
Thanks, found it here, not sure where I got 9xxwatts from. I thought I saw 20 amps and multiplied by 48v, so 960w. But it appears to supply 8.3amps, probably don't want to exceed 8amps.

Thanks for sharing. I like the low profile nature of the light bar. When I wire up mine I think I'll try to add a plug so it can also power some additional led lights I can attach to my roof rack.
Has anyone seen the power limits of this accessory feed? How many amps can it supply an how...
I was surprised the first time this happened, so now I make it a point to drop the tailgate and roll up the tonneau every time someone asks to check it out.
It just occured to me... This PV system has 200 watts always on as part of the case, plus 100watts each from each fold out segment. I think it has 4x and 5x front/rear or visa versa of fold out. And since this would be on my truck, where the rear view is already blocked by the tonneau cover...
I didn't miss that, all those points are automatically handled by this system. This product has a buffer battery built into it, IDK the capacity, but I presume the inventor has chosen something reasonable.
EVerything I have read about this system leads me to believe they aren't some uninformed...
My OP was simply 1.2kW of well packaged roof rack required PV array. I do appreciate your input. But I'm mostly just asking about mounting opinions. Specifically I'll have the rail #2+#3 and spare tire bridge installed on my truck. So such a PV array (this or something equally not practical)...
Yes, I am well aware of all those nuances. I thought I was clear that this is obviously not a practical solution.
You are correct, it would actually likely barely cover the sentry mode and very likely not the cabin overheat protection. It would need to be deployed daily to have a chance, as...
Any updates to this? Someone posted they hit 121 mph trap speed in the quarter mile very recently... But my beast is still limited to like 114mph in the ¼.
