I know the feeling! I’m 64 and have stage 4 prostate cancer & bladder cancer with hopefully at least a 5 year life span…
Yes guys, it is sad it has taken so long, but it will be amazing. I hope you get to enjoy your Cybertruck. I ordered mine back in Nov 2019, but I ordered the one motor model. So, I have no idea about what is going to happen with my order. I have a heart condition that I try to keep healthy by eating lots of good food like salmon. At age 62, a CT Tesla is what I need. Beside, it will make for a nice gift when the times come. I hope I will use a lot of it, if I do not get the time to upgrade it.

I just want my truck.

It's a tough balancing act. Because I want them to hurry but I want them to minimize the early vehicle issues.

Jan 2 2024 will be good for me thanks Elon lol

We still tracking federal credit can come off at time of purchase in 2024? Instead of the current filing mode?

yes, an "on the hood" deduction of purchase price (assuming the vehicle qualifies for either arm of the rebate, and purchaser meets income quals)

Im pretty curious how they intend to put manufacturers in charging of qualifying people for the tax credit or is big gob’t gonna get their jollies chasing non quals down the road?

good question.

My armchair understanding is that what actually happens "on the hood" is that the buyer assigns the credit to the dealership, and it's the dealership making the filing along with appropriate proof - presumably of buyer income (with the dealer otherwise having comfort around MSRP, vehicle qualification, etc.).

Accordingly, I assume that to get the "on the hood" credit dealers will be playing tax man, requiring appropriate paperwork regarding income - possibly some requirements that later in year buyers provide bring-down W2s etc?.

I know this form of "on the hood" credit has been used before, and across other contexts, but I've not personally been through it. Maybe others have and can weigh in

and of course

have an MSRP (all in), of <$80K

?
I think they can do it! If I have to forgo FSD to get the credit I will. 12500 too much to pass on

Dealers typically have financing departments. Which encompasses income qualification.

I'm hoping it will be something simple like attaching a copy of your tax returns when you order and then the price is reduced for the consumers and then the manufacturer is paid later. Since Ford (and I'm assuming others eventually) will be going to the Tesla sales model, seems like it would be very quick to verify.
