Tesla has never said production was aiming for 350k, and I don't know how anyone could get to that number: Each line of gigapresses only gets you 250k maximum castings per year.Facts matter. 1000 a week x 52 = 52000 a year. Nowhere near the 350,000 ...
Secondly, you can't go from 0 production to producing all 250k in a year. It's just not possible, nor has Tesla ever claimed they would.
I didn't listen closely this time, but it sounds like their installed equipment is going to top out at 125k a year, which means that somehow it's running slower... or more likely they're consuming more castings per truck than initially predicted.
Hit 'we did a thousand in a week this month' means their maximum was a thousand that month, but their total for the month would be much more lower than a thousand trucks times weeks in the month, of course.
So not only does this mean they're almost guaranteed to get to 2k trucks a week this year, that means there is somewhere between 35k and 52k more they will product this year. And next year they'll produce over a 100k.
That means this year, they're on track to produce more Cybertrucks this year than total Lightnings, Silverados, and Hummer EVs, in existence. They may beat Rivian's rate next year. If demand keeps up with their cost reductions, they'll expand production.
