Does anyone have experience mounting 17" wheels on the cybertruck? I've put 18s on mine and it looks like you cant go any smaller, but i noticed SupercarRon seems to have 17s on his . The tires are also 37.5" . Not sure if these wheels fit right on or he swapped in smaller calipers, or grinded away material from the calipers.

You'll need new brakes and possibly rotors. The truck you referenced is heavily modified.

18" is supported according to the off-road guide by Tesla. But 17" is not mentioned.

I can think of a few pros
  • Increased Sidewall Height. The extra sidewall flex improves traction by allowing the tire to conform better to irregular surfaces, enhancing grip on loose or rocky trails. The larger sidewall also acts as a natural shock absorber
  • Slightly Better Articulation. Increased sidewall flex can marginally improve wheel articulation (the ability to maintain contact with the ground over uneven terrain)

In addition to what @misdemeanor said:
- Greater air volume means lower safe pressures at low speed. Lower pressure adds to terrain conformity and comfort on suspension.
- more side wall also means you're less likely to damage wheels off-roading.

Cons:
-less instant torque to pavement in racing conditions

Now those are some straight donuts. Anyone rocking straight up sand tires must be a serious off-roader.

Haha yeah... Paddles and all. This is the same truck that has the snow tracks installed last winter
