Short story, don't buy Cybertruck, based on the $7500 credit.Wow .. I thought Tesla was on the cutting edge of Technology .. the IRS has updated their records, but Tesla doesn't know about it yet?Again, it doesn't have to be at PoS for me, Tax Time is fine, but paperwork is needed from Tesla at the time of purchase, which seems they can't do. Huge bummer...
Long story,
Its unclear how the program will change this year. That determination is supposed to be made very soon. Tesla is probably awaiting word on how it will change. Its possible the program will end immediately. It is unclear if rebates will be honored for purchases in 2025. Its reasonable to hope that any purchases made after 1-1-25,a dn before the program is cancelled, will be honored. But this is a government program. Its not promised, and it can change. If you're purchase decision was made based on this rebate, I suggest you hold off on that purchase until you know for certain. Hopefully you can negotiate that delay with your tesla rep. But also know, that if the first few weeks of sales end up grandfathered on last years rebate for other EVs, and all future purchases are exempt from the rebate, you may miss out.
