I was originally waiting / hoping for this but bought my AWD 3 weeks ago bc of the free FSD transfer. So, if I waited until now, I’d still have to pay $8k for FSD (or subscribe, which I wouldn’t want to do).

I’m sure some time in 2025 they’ll offer free FSD transfer again though…

All the people that purchased a 2024 should join together and request we get free self driving for being screwed out of the 7500 tax credit.
I’m sorry, that’s ridiculous. Every buyer makes a decision for themselves: do I want to purchase a product at whatever price it’s currently available. If you could afford to purchase without the tax credit, and you wanted the CT, you bought it. If not, you didn’t. Products always get better over time, and incentives change constantly. I absolutely love my CT, it’s legitimately the best vehicle I’ve ever driven. I made an informed decision to purchase it at the price point at which I did, and I’ve got zero regrets or complaints. Frankly, I’m pleased that the rebate now applies, because as a Tesla shareholder I imagine it will help them move more volume and make the trucks more accessible to those who might otherwise not be able to afford them.

So with the tax credit, plus the referral discount which is currently still available (feel free to use my referral code: http://ts.la/jarett3300) you can get an AWD CT for $70,500. That’s a pretty sweet deal!

Cybertruck RWD is now listed as eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. It is expected to be released in 2025. If factoring in the tax credit it will start at $53,490

I don’t know many people who buy 2WD trucks. Not saying it won’t sell, but I doubt it will be a large share of them.

A lot of larger commercial trucks are 2WD. Single motor CT would sell well if it had the range and towing capacity (~15k) making it suitable for construction contractors. It comes quite short though, so it will be challenging.

I agree! When I was casually talking to different contractors, they were fully onboard to buy CT if the price was $20K lower. RWD will sell like hot cake. Some contractors have learnt to work on their truck maintenance to save money, but they don’t particularly enjoy doing it. CT RWD would be a no brainer for them!

Vast majority of contractor vehicles don't use long range.
