There was a thread about 3 years ago on the topic of the "Dutch Reach" and the future possibility of this "anti-opening" feature. Some were against the idea because of "not being in control", which devolved into "why do you hate pedestrians". Members were banned, and posts were deleted (including some of mine lol).

I'm glad we're now all cheering on this new safety feature.
Understand this great feature. Had a friend encounter this on a bike. A person meaning the best left a young man crippled for a long period of his life.

The question is, if it starts raining and some water droplets are on camera will it prevent me from opening the door without double tapping :)

The cynic in me is already anticipating all of the maddening glitches it may have. 😂

That means mine is 2026.2, far away from 2026.8😭
At least your 2026.2 doesn't have to cycle through weeks 3,4,5,6, and 7 to get to the 2026.8 release! You can skip all the chaff in the middle.

Anti-dooring protection now rolling out to Cybertruck.

This feature comes standard on every new Model 3, Model Y & Cybertruck – using cameras to delay door opening if a cyclist, pedestrian or other vehicle is detected approaching in your blind spot.
