I have $9500 in rebates essentially locked into the order. It will be $72k out the door.

Ahh okay that makes more sense. Are you getting the new AWD discounted? Or you just saying you got the tax credit with it so essentially $72,500? Otherwise I don’t see how you make anything selling it under MSRP.

That’s crazy. So Luxe gets you service for a few years then that’s gone, then you’re left with FSD. Brutal for the used market. Hack $7K off the value just for pressing “accept delivery” on the app. Don’t even have to drive them off the lot.

Everything stayed with the truck except for lifetime data and SC. I tried to have the dealer reach out to the guy who traded in the truck and see if he would give me his Tesla account. That way I could get in, change the email and password on the app and essesntially keep everything as it. Unfortunately the sales lady was quick to run in and talk to the other sales associate who completed the trade in and they texted the guy asking him to relinquish ownership instead of what I requested, and he dropped the truck from his account. I noticed when it happened too because the truck did a uncommanded reset while I was sitting in it and the data dropped and SC went with it. It also logged the truck out of his account and set everything to factory. I was pissed because I thought I could make it work and they jumped the gun on me.

Called Tesla last night and talked to them for around 25 min. The guy was super awesome on the phone but basically told me that they do have the ability to make changes when things like original owners accidentally transfer ownership instead of "share" ownership with a spouse or friend but since he already dropped the account the truck now shows as "pre-owned" in their system and himself of his management has no way to add it back, even if they wanted to. We talked for a while and he said if he could he would, but once it says pre-owned theres nothing he can do.

The way I look at it. I just got a $115k beast thats 2 weeks old for almost $30k less than what the guy paid for it. Thats a lot of money for supercharging and data is $99 a year. I'm mad, but I'll manage. Just gotta keep getting those referrals out....lol

Honestly there's no way I'd consider this... I wouldn't risk laying out 80k to make a few bucks and potentially help someone else get a deal. You could also end up getting stuck with it or taking a loss on it if you didn't flip it right away. Someone who is going to spend that kinda money on a truck I don't think would want to deal with a 3rd party unless they were getting a great deal worth the hassle - like you said you did where you saved 30k on your truck now. I'd rather buy it from Tesla brand new and spend the extra 2-3k and not have any headaches. Thats just my opinion.

For clarification, I already purchased a used 2025 Beast with the Luxe package. Unfortunately I did lose the free supercharging and data but everything else kept as is. Put Duratracs on it today and have tint, PPF and full plastic wrap by abstract ocean planned for this upcoming week.

The main purpose of the post was just to let everyone know 2026s are hitting lots now. Tesla bought back my 2024 AWD FS this week so I needed a new truck. I was in the process of requesting the buyback when 1 October hit, so I placed an order for a normal AWD CT just in case they bought it back I could qualify for the rebates. I stumbled across the beast last week and it was a no brainer to buy that instead.

Now essentially I have this AWD 2026 CT pending delivery next week. Trying to figure out if I should buy it also and sell for a few thousand under MSRP so I can help someone out with a cheaper brand new 2026 AWD and maybe make a few bucks. Or do I just let it go and lose my $250 deposit. 🧐
Why did Tesla buy back your 2024 truck or did you just trade it in?

Thanks for the 2026 model year start confirmation. I had a hunch that 2026 models would start production any day now.

I would personally go with the fresh off the assembly line 2026 for $72k and sell the Beast, but that’s me. Your truck will also be under the full factory warranty until November of 2029.

A lot of ongoing improvements have been incorporated into the CT. New quarter panel part numbers, new structural adhesive, etc.

Just got allocated a 2026 that arrives next week. I’m in a dilemma because I just picked up a used 2025 Beast with 1k miles and the luxe package for almost the same price. Trying to figure out what to do with this order as I am locked into the $7500 tax rebate, $1k military and $1k loyalty discount.

Should I buy and then resell brand new?
There is no resell value here. Not worth risking 80K to potentially make 5K.

Interesting, wondering if the 2026 has new battery chemistry and hardware updates.
Are there plans of new battery "upgrades"? The 2024 vs 2025 had the dry cell upgrade but I did not hear of anything else out there that's in the works.

Last year the 2025s didn't come out until Christmas. Merry early Christmas!

For those wondering how I know:

The VIN will tell you:
RA - 2024
SA - 2025
TA - 2026
You can omit the A since they're all built in Austin.

Also for those wondering, VIN year codes never use I, O, Q, U, or Z to prevent confusion with other characters. :)

Might be worth to sell the beast if you don’t care about… beastly things….

But if you’re preferring the beast attributes I can’t imagine getting the 26’ is worth it, I’d lose the 250
